The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Softly Stippled" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the card base.
Next I got out my "Dainty Delight" bundle and die cut the flower pieces. I used Lost Lagoon, Petal Pink, Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Poppy Parade.
The words are from the "Perennial Postage" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them using the third largest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I die cut them so they were towards the right of the circle so the flowers could cover some of it.
The word piece had to be taped down first. Next came the long curved Lost Lagoon stem. Then the Pool Party flowers were added. The Poppy Parade ones were added and then the Powder Pink flowers. Little leaves were added here and there.
To finish off the card I took some clear embellishments and I colored them using my dark Pool Party Blends Pen.
I have to laugh every time I type the words Pool Party. I'm a pretty fast typer and sometimes Pool gets typed Poop. Fortunately I catch it before I publish my posts! LOL If it weren't for muscle memory I think poop would show up a lot more.
This was a fun card to make but I'm not fond of the colors I chose. But some mom is going to love the card because her child gave it to her, right? Nod your head yes to make me feel better! LOL
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Mother's Day card,
Wanda
