Let's Go Fishing, Father's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Ad you probably figured out I left my "Let's Go Fishing" Designer Series Paper (DSP) sitting out so I thought I'd make another card with it. The paper will be retired in 6 days and I have quite a bit left (as I usually do with all of my DSP). Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Misty Moonlight card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP and taped it to the front of the card.

Next I cut a 4-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Misty Moonlight for the layer and I taped the three strips of DSP on top. I cut the DSP at 3" x 4" and cut them on the 3" side at 1" each. I taped the two end pieces on first and then the center one. I had an easier time taping these this time than I did a while back. I had struggled getting the pieces straight and even. I actually thought about taking out my Cricut and making a template so I can just set the strips in the openings and get them straight every time. It's on my list of things to do but that list is rather long and who knows when I will get to it. Anyway, after taping the three strips to the card stock I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on the front of the card.

Next came the circles, I used the third and fourth largest circles in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. The large one was cut from a scrap piece of Misty Moonlight and the smaller from a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

A fish was fussy cut from the "Let's Go Fishing" package and set in place on the circles using Dimensionals. Then the piece was taped in place on the front of the card.

The words are from my computer and were printed on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. Using the same punch I punched out the scalloped oval. I taped the two ovals together and set them in place using Dimensionals.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla was cut and taped to the inside and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, even with the fussy cutting!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Father's Day card,
Wanda
