The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.
On the front of the card I cut a piece of Basic White card stock 4-7/8" x 3-3/4" and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. Then I cut it into three equal pieces that measured 1-5/8" x 3-3/4". Keeping the pieces in order, I glued the bottom one on first, then the top one and the middle piece last.
The flower I had made yesterday. Please refer to yesterday's post to see how it was colored in. I cut the flower in half. I took a quarter sheet of card stock and lined up half of the flower on the top edge and trimmed the leaves hanging off the side. I repeated this for the bottom piece. I glued these pieces in place on the front of the card.
The words are from the "Throughout the Year" and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them with the die in the "Enduring Beauty" bundle. I set the words in place using Dimensionals.
I added a couple of brass butterflies to the front and the card was done.
This was fun to make and I do think it would me SO much prettier using a color in the reds area.
It's a lovely card and such a fun way to use the single flower by cutting it in half!
