Cheerful Daisies, Day's To Remember, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'd love to report to you that I'm feeling better but I am not. On the brighter side I'm not feeling worse, so that's a positive thing, right? It's been 10 days and you'd think I'd be over this by now. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I quit taking the over the counter cough suppressant and my head feels more clear. If the side pulled muscle didn't hurt so much I could cough and clear my lungs.  Okay, there's my health update! I'm still plugging along.  I found a pretty card that I wanted to make. I found it on Pinterest and you can see it here. There were no instructions so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crushed Curry card stock. Once cut in half (on the short side) it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut two pieces of Basic White card stock that measured 4" x 5-1/4". I taped one to the inside and the other I textured with using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.

A 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Crushed Curry was cut for the top layer. And a 2-7/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the layer. On that Basic White piece I stenciled the design using the "Artistic Mix" masks and Crushed Curry ink. I scrubbed the color on using my Blending Brush. Once done I taped the piece to the Crushed Curry Layer.

A piece of white Baker's Twine was wrapped around the layers twice and the ends were taped to the back. Then the piece was then glued in place on the front of the card base.

The flowers are from the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle using Basic White card stock. I die cut two sets. On the center of each flower I added a little Crushed Curry ink. Dimensionals were added to the back of the top flower and it was slightly offset from the bottom flower.

The flowers were glued in place on the front of the card. I started with the large flower, then the top left flower and then the bottom flower.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using Versa Mark and heat set with white embossing powder.  I punched it out using the "Double Oval" punch. The words were set in place using Dimenisonals. I set up the small Dimensionals so they would straddle the Baker's Twine. And that was it.

This was a fun card to make and I really like how it turned out. I think it would be fun to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) in place of the masked piece (just to save time) and make more cards like this.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Another great card using a mask and the Cheerful Daisies dies. Once again, it looks like another one I just have to CASE. So pretty done with the yellow!
