Cheerful Daisies, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a sweet card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I did change it a bit. There were no instructions so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Starry Sky card stock. This card stock is retiring at the end of the month so I thought I'd use some before then. The color isn't the same as the color on the original card but I think it works well, it highlights the colors nicely. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Starry Sky card stock and using the mask from the "Artistic Mix" set I took my Blending Brush and Starry Sky ink and scrubbed on some color in an ovalish shape.

For the splatter I took my "Wink of Stella" pen and added a bit of watered down Starry Sky ink and tapped the pen against a pencil to get the water to splatter on my card stock. Once I thought it was speckled enough I set it aside to dry.

Next I took a piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the flower pieces from the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle. For the flower centers I stamped them using Daffodil Delight ink and die cut the large one and fussy cut the smaller ones.

The leaves were cut from the flowers and were colored using my light Granny Apple Green Blends pen. I could have used Granny Apple Green card stock but I thought the Blends pen would give an uneven coloring to look more like real leaves.

The words are from the same "Cheerful Daisies" bundle and were die cut with a die in that bundle. I used black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Pebble Path card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside.

I glued the layers to the flowers and then the centers were set in place. A Dimensional was set to the back of the large flower and it was set in place on the front of the card. The upper flower was added next and then the lower flower. I added them with just a dot of glue.

The leaves were glued and tucked under the flowers. Then the word piece was added. I did lift up the petals on the lower flower before pressing the piece in place.

A linen bow was tied and set in place with a dot of glue.

The whole piece was set on the front of the card base using Dimensionals. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
