Hills of Tuscany, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you using the "Hills of Tuscany" set. I hear the word Tuscany and I think of the move "Under the Tuscan Sun."  Wonderful movie. Anyway, I found this card on the net. There's a video and you can follow it. I thought it started out making the card with the circle but it was making one using the arched die cut piece. So I ended up just cutting a circle on mine. It's okay, I still like it. You can see the video here.  Please read on to see how the card is made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One was taped to the inside and the other was textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card. 

A 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flowering Zinnias" 12" x 12" package. I glued that to the front left side of the card. 

Now came the fun stamping. First the sky went in using Balmy Blue ink. Then the house in Copper Clay with a Pebble Path roof. The grassy area was stamped using Old Olive, Mine was stamped more times than in the video only because I couldn't get my white open areas inked. But it's still pretty. The water was added next using Lost Lagoon ink. I was following along as the lady was teaching it and she said she used the Lost Lagoon stamped off before stamping it on the front of the card. I just never learn to watch the video first, I just jump in and play along. We all make mistakes but it still turned out nice and with the way I did mine the water doesn't show much. The trees were added next using Mossy Meadow ink and lastly was the sun which was stamped using Crushed Curry.

I used the 5th smallest circle in the "Deckled Circles" die set.  Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the same "Hills of Tuscany" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them using the die from the ""Stylish Shapes" die set. A Dimensional was added to the left side and some double sided tape to the right side and it was set in place on the front of the card.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I do like how it turned out. I may follow another one of her cards on the video but for now I'll just leave it here.

Perennial Postage, Forever Love, Around the Bend, Mother's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Mother's Day card to share with you. It's nice to get a jump on needed cards, isn't it? I like to try to plan ahead when I can and sometimes it actually works out! Please read on to see how I made today's card. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. After making my card I think Very Vanilla would have been a better choice. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Forever Love" 12" x 12" package. I die cut the bottom area of that piece using the curved die from the "Around the Bend" bundle. 

Using the same die set I cut the scalloped piece using gold foil card stock. I taped the DSP to the gold piece.

Next I cut a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of DSP from the same "Forever Love" package. I taped the piece to the bottom of the card base and then the foil layered piece was taped to the upper part of the card base.

The words are from the "Perennial Postage" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them using the 4th circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set and I used the 3rd circle from that set on a piece of gold foil card stock. I taped the two circles together and set it in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.  And the card was finished.

This was a fun card to make. It was quick and easy and has an elegant look to it. Though I do recommend you use Very Vanilla card stock instead of Basic White. The white is just too bright and looks out of place. But the mom that receives it will not care.

Inspirational Sketches, Everyday Details, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thank you card to share with you using the "Inspirational Sketches" set. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Forever Love" 12" x 12" package. I don't know why I had ordered it but I thought I should play with some of it before it retires. 

The diamond shaped die from the "Everyday Details" die set was used twice to make the dotted design on the left side of the piece of DSP. I added tape on the right side and little dots of glue to the left side and set it in place on the front of the card base.

The bird is from the "Inspirational Sketches" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I colored it in using my light Lost Lagoon Blends pen. I was going to use the Pretty Peacock but it was way too dark so I had to go with the next closet color. The belly was colored in using the light and dark Petal Pink Blends pen and the beak, feet and branch were colored in using the light Pecan Pie Blends pen. I cut the piece using the die from the "Everyday Details" set. The piece was set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. I just eyed it so it was equal (enough) on the left, top and right.

The words are from the "Inspirational Sketches" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I die cut them using the die from the same "Everyday Details" set. I set them in place using Dimensionals and the card was done. 

Such a sweet bird. I forgot I had gotten this set and I don't think I bought it for the bird, I think it was the flowers in the set. I will have to play with that image soon.

Meandering Meadows, Heartfelt Hexagons, Everyday Details, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a simple and quick sympathy card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the dotted diamond shapes using the "Everyday Details" die set.  Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

Next I used the same die set to cut the circle from a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Meandering Meadows" 6" x 6" package. I set it in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Heartfelt Hexagons" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them using the rectangle from the same die set. Dimensionals were added to the left side and tape to the right where it would be sticking to the circle. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I think if I were to make another one I would use a smaller word piece, I think this is just a little too big. But it's still okay.  

And now I have another scrap strip to make a card like I did yesterday! Ya gotta use up those strips of scrap!

Meandering Meadows, Days to Remember, Birthday Cards, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick card(s) to share with you. Yesterday I made a card using the "Meandering Meadows" Designer Series Paper (DSP) 6" x 6" stack. After cutting the piece I needed for my card there was a pretty strip leftover and I didn't want to toss it in recycling, so I put it back in the package. I had noticed that there was another one in the package too, it was a hair wider but still, it's leftover and in the package. So I decided to make cards with the two strips. Please read on to see how these cards were made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut the Crushed Curry strips at 5-1/2" x 2-1/4". I cut two of them. That was my mistake, I should have measured the wider strip and cut the card stock to fit it but I ended up trimming the DSP and all was well. 

The strips were taped to the card stock pieces and then taped to the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold. 

Using the "Double Oval" punch, I punched out two scalloped ovals and set them aside. 

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I punched them out using the same punch. I taped the ovals together. Dimensionals were added to the back and then set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

Super simple and you get to use your scrap pieces. Yay!

Heartfelt Hexagon, Meandering Meadows, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty sympathy card to share with you. I like a layout I saw on Pinterest and I ran with it. You can see that card here. Please read on to see how I made my card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Garden Green card stock and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crushed Curry card stock. I taped the two layers together.  

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Meandering Meadows" 6" x 6"package. It was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and taped on top of the Crushed Curry piece. That was all taped to the card base.

Next I stamped the words using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" bundle. I stamped the border image using black Memento ink and the words were stamped using Garden Green ink. I punched the piece out using the matching "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. The "Heartfelt Hexagon" set is retiring but the punch is staying. I wonder what new set will come out to replace it so the punch can still be used. I'm hanging onto mine for a while, I still like the words in it.  Anyway, after punching the piece out Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

I love using this DSP, it allows for making a super quick and easy card that is SO lovely. The scenes in this stack have such a serene feel to them.

Darling Details, Give it a Whirl, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

 Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you that was done using a technique that is trending. It's fun, quick and easy. I found a video here but only watched it to learn about the circle and I just did the rest on my own. You can see the video here. Please read on to see how I made my card. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Boho Blue card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Copper Clay card stock for the layer and on top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock. I taped the Copper Clay and Basic White piece to the front of the card.

Next came the circles. I used the "Fresh as a Daisy" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and die cut two circles. I used the "Stylish Shapes" die set for that. I used the  3rd and 4th largest circles for this. You can use any circles you have, punches or dies, it's up to you how big you want your birds. You can also just do a single bird. I would do that if I had used a larger circle. Anyway, after die cutting the circles you fold them, not quite in half.  Here is another area with wiggle room. It depends on how much of the "belly" you want to show and that's where you fold it. A dimensional is added to the inside. I put mine about 1/4" away from the edge of the smaller half of the circle.

The bird bodies were set on top of the Basic White card stock for leg and word placement. When I saw where I thought they looked the best I taped them in place. 

Taking the Basic Black marker I drew the legs and toes. (I had opened my Basic Black Blends pen and some liquid came out and of course it would land on the card where it would make some color bleed. That's why the bottom bird's left leg has a mark on it. Grrrr).  Okay, once the legs were drawn in it was time to make the beak. I cut a 1/2" strip of Basic Black card stock and just snipped a couple triangles. I used a dot of glue and slipped them under the circle a little.

The tails were made by die cutting two hearts using a scrap piece of DSP. I glued them to the backs of the birds.

For the eyes I used some retired "Polished Dots" and I colored them in using my Basic Black Blends pen.  I don't know why some of my pens spew out some clear liquid but when they do they make a mess and I have not learned to just open them over an area that has nothing on it that matters. I let the eyes dry for a little bit and then I set them in place on the birds.

The "hello" is from the "Darling Details" set. There's supposed to be "there" under the "hello" but I lined up the "hello" on the edge of the card stock and the "there" didn't get stamped. It was a way of masking without masking!  Quick and easy. The piece was trimmed to 1/2" x 1". A piece of Boho Blue was cut to measure 3/4" x 1-1/4". I taped the words to the Boho Blue piece and then that was set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

This was such a fun and quick card to make. I like how it turned out (except for the little bird's leg). I need to look and see what other color DSP I have that would work. I think I'd like to try something that is a bit more colorful. But all in all it was a nice learning experience.

Heartfelt Hexagons, Fresh as a Daisy, Wedding Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a wedding card to share with you. I found the layout to this card here and of course I changed it a little. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Bubble Bath card stock and taped it to the card base.

Next I cut a 4"x 5-1/4" piece of Moody Mauve card stock and taped it on top of the Bubble Bath piece.

A 3-1/4" x 4-1/8" piece of Bubble Bath card stock was cut and the strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fresh as a Daisy" 12" x 12" package was taped in place. Those strips measure 1" x 4" and you need three of them.

Once the strips were taped on the piece was set in place on top of the card. I eyed it so the left, top and right looked equal.

The words are from the "Heartfelt Hexagon" set and were stamped using Moody Mauve for the outer design and Copper Clay for the words but the two are so close in color that it looks like it was stamped with the same color.  I punched out the words using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I liked taping the strips and I was surprised that I didn't mix them up and have to play a matching game to get them sorted out, I usually do.

Simply Zinnia, Timeless Arrangements, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. It's the scored lines that caught my eye. You can see the original card here. I did change it a bit. There were no instructions on how to make the card so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made my version of the card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Berry Burst card stock. I stamped the Zinnia from the "Simply Zinnia" bundle using Berry Burst ink. I only stamped around the edges since the majority of the card base will be covered.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I added 5 score lines. I with my card stock in my scoring board with the short side along the top, I scored the piece 5 times starting at 1" to 1-1/2". Then I turned my card stock so the long side was on the top and I made 5 score lines starting at 3-1/4" to 3-3/4".  

When doing the first set of score lines, only go down about 2-1/2". I placed my finger in that area so once my stylus hit it I knew it was far enough. Then when I turned the piece I scored down to those 5 score lines. You don't have to meet them perfectly, they will be covered.

The words are from the "Timeless Arrangements" bundle and were stamped using Berry Burst ink.

Next I taped the piece to the front of the card base about 1/4" from the top and 1/4" from the right edge. Make sure you tape the side of the card stock that does not have the bumps on.  You are taping the same side that was facing you on the scoring board. I made a tiny pencil mark on mine so I would see it and remember that this is the side to add tape.  

I fussy cut a zinnia from a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flowering Zinnias" 12" x 12" package. I also cut two leaves. I didn't do a perfect job of fussy cutting and I usually just take a matching marker or Blends Pen and run the belly of the marker/pen over the edges. This time I just placed the flower between my thumb and middle finger and ran it over the ink pad like it was a cutting wheel. It covered my ugly cutting and it looks like I did a perfect job! Shhhh, don't tell anyone! LOL I should have taken a before and after pic. So once I got my "perfect" flower ready, Dimensionals were added to the back and I set it in place where the lines meet. I taped down the leaves.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make and I really love those lines. They are simple and elegant.

Timeless Arrangements, Simply Zinnia, Thank You card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thank you card to share with you. I should be making Easter cards for our granddaughters but I have a whole week left to do that, right? Nothing like waiting till the last minute, which is what will happen! I know me too well! LOL  Anyway, I found out that the "Timeless Arrangements" set is going to be retiring so I thought I'd take mine out and make a thank you card. Please read on to see how this card was made and how quickly it went together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Shaded Spruce card stock for the layer. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White that I textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder (I don't know if it's retiring or not). If I had to guess I would have to say it is because it's one of my favorites and that's how it goes for me! So back to the card. I glued the Basic White piece to the Shaded Spruce piece and then I taped that to the front of the card base.

The words are from the "Simply Zinnia" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the stitched rectangle die from the "Timeless Arrangements" bundle. 

Next I die cut the leaves using Shaded Spruce card stock, the flowers using Bubble Bath (I don't know why I always start typing bubble gum) card stock and the dotted stems were die cut using gold foil card stock. I taped them down on top of the word piece with the green first, then the pink and lastly the gold. I added Dimensionals to the back on the bottom edge and just below the area where the layers of the dies are stacked. If you put your Dimensionals on top of that your piece will be tilted because of the thickness of those 3 pieces.  Once that was done I set the piece in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

I think it took longer standing at my Big Shot texturing and die cutting than it did to put the piece together.

I do like how it turned out. I had originally die cut Poppy Parade flowers but it looked like it was more of a Christmas thank you than a spring one. I suppose Granny Apple Green card stock would have really given it that spring look.  But it's okay, I like how it turned out anyway.

Around the Bend, Bee Mine, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you. I found the instructions on Pinterest while actually looking for something other than a card! You can see that video here. I don't know what the technique is called but it's easy and fun.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Sweet Sorbet card stock. Since it's an in color that is retiring soon I wanted to make sure I use more of it up before the end of April. Actually I forgot about that in color, it seems once the new ones come into play the previous ones are pushed aside.  Anyway, my card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two pieces of Basic White card stock that measure 4" x 5-1/4" each. I taped one to the inside. 

On the outside piece I taped down four pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Bee Mine" 12" x 12" package. I cut these four pieces at 2-1/2" x 1-7/8". The DSP is scored on 4 corners. See the photo to know where each piece is scored. I marked my pieces at 1" on one side and 1" on the next side and folded the corner now. I did glue mine to hold it in place. 

Then I tape these pieces on the Basic White piece leaving about 1/8" border on all sides.

The words are from the retiring "Around the Bend" bundle using Sweet Sorbet ink. I kind of regret using that color. The Parakeet Party would have been too light and I think the Balmy Blue might have been too light too. I guess I should have tested it out on a scrap piece first. But I do know black Memento ink would have been way too bold. 

Once the words were stamped I taped that piece to the card base and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and a way to use up some of those scrap pieces of  DSP.

Playing in the Rain, Bee Mine, Friendship or Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun layout to share with you. I found it here. I didn't see any measurements so here's how I made it.

I like to use a folded half-sheet of Basic White for my cards because the colored paper is a lot more expensive, this way I can get 4 cards from one sheet of colored paper as opposed to 2. With the cost of paper going up all of the time it's the better way for me to go. Plus I don't have to add a Basic White piece to the insides for writing on. For me it's a win/win.

My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue for the top layer. I textured that piece using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

Using a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Bee Mine" 12" x 12" package I cut three pieces that measured 1" x 3".  I glued these strips on in a zig zag sort of way. If you remove the bunny it looks like a backwards "Z".

The bunny is from the "Playing in the Rain" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I colored in the shirt using my Blender Pen and my Sweet Sorbet ink pad. The ears and nose were colored in using the light Powder Pink Blends pen. Dimensionals were added to the back of the bunny and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the same "Playing in the Rain" set and were stamped using Balmy Blue ink. I cut them out using the 4th largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I see the piece in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. I did add a tiny dot of glue under the bunnies foot so it stayed down.

I added some flowers from the "Loose Daisy" embellishments package. They were randomly glued in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun and quick card to make. I've never made this type of layout before. It was different and I do like it.

I'm not sure what category this card would go in, it could fit under several of them, friendship, birthday, for an accomplishment, for other types of good news.... What do you think?

Simply Zinnia, Days to Remember, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick card to share with you. Yesterday when I stamped the flower image I also stamped and die cut out a few more and put them in the stamp case for future use. I didn't think it would be this soon into the future but the set was still sitting on my worktable, no surprise there! LOL Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather card stock and textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued that in place on the front of the card.

Then I cut a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock. On top of that is a 3" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock that was textured using the splatter folder from the "Stipes & Splatters" embossing folder set. I glued that to the Gorgeous Grape piece and then that was glued to the Highland Heather piece.

The flowers were stamped using black Memento ink and die cut using the matching die from the "Simply Zinnia" bundle.

I colored the flowers using both light and dark Highland Heather, Bubble Bath and Flirty Flamingo Blends pens. Both light and dark Granny Apple Green on the stems and leaves. And the light Daffodil Delight on the centers of the flowers. Dimensionals were added to the back and the flowers were set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. They were punched out using the oval in the "Double Oval" punch and the scalloped oval was punched out using the same punch on a scrap piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock. I taped them together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

I'm very pleased with how this card turned out. It was fun and easy to make too.

Days to Remember, Around the Bend, Fresh as a Daisy, Birthday Card, Stampin Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you and it's got lots of pieces. It took more than the usual 20 minutes or so to make but it's SO worth it. I saw a card that Vicki from "Heartwarmers from Vicki" had made and I thought I'd give it a try. You can see her card here from her March 15, 2024 post. There's no direct link to the card, just to the blog. I love her little bunnies. I didn't have any bunny dies and I had to think of what I had that would fit in those squares and I ended up with the flowers. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I took the card to my paper cutter and cut off 2-1/8" from the front.

I taped on a 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fresh as a Daisy" 12" x 12" package. I also took another piece of the DSP that measures 2-1/4" x 2-1/4", it was cut diagonally and then taped to the inside of the card on the upper and lower right side. 

On the inside I also taped two layered pieces. The Boho Blue measures 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" and the Basic White piece measures 2-5/8" 2-5/8". I taped those two pieces together and then taped that to the inside of the card.

The flowers are from the "Around the Bend" bundle. I die cut 6 of them. Then I sponged on some Boho Blue to the tips. I glued two together. The center is a die cut piece of Copper Clay and glued to the center of each flower.

Next I cut three 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" pieces of Boho Blue card stock and four 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock for the squares for the front. I taped the two pieces together and I set aside the one Basic White piece left. I taped two of the squares in place first, the top and the bottom. I lied up the tip with the bottom and edge of the DSP. I thought the center one was a bit more difficult to put on. I added a tiny bit of tape where I thought it would touch the front inside of the card and then I set the piece on the inside of the card so I could line it up with the layers already taped down. Once lined up I shut the card and pressed down so it picked the square off the inside. Then I pulled the edges back a little and added a dot of glue on three tips (one at a time) and that piece was now affixed to the card. On the back of that piece I added the other Basic White square. But before taping it in place I stamped the words from the "Days to Remember" set using Boho Blue ink.

The flowers were set in place using glue dots and the card was done.

All in all it was fun but it does have lots of pieces to play with and I did lose one of the Basic White pieces. Who knows where it went! It's somewhere on my worktable. I didn't keep all the pieces in one spot and that's what happens. And then I wonder if I really did cut four or was it just three?  LOL.  I just cut another one and saved myself some time in hunting!

I am pleased with the looks of this birthday card.

Simply Zinnia, Go To Greetings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. It was made by Terri Gaines and I changed it a little. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Bee Mine" Valentine's 12" x 12" package. I was trying to find more used for that DSP. I didn't make very many Valentine's Day card with it and it certainly won't be in the next catalog so I need to find ways to use it up.  This piece was perfect for the flowers, on the other side are rows of honey jars, so it's perfect that this DSP will work with other themes. I cut my DSP 5-1/4" x 2-1/4". I taped it to the left side of the card leaving about 1/4" border on the top, folded side and bottom.

Next I stamped the flowers from the "Simply Zinnia" bundle using black Memento ink. I colored them in using both light and dark Poppy Parade Blends pens. I also used both light and dark Granny Apple Green Blends pens for the stems and leaves. For the center of the flowers I used the light Daffodil Delight and Pecan Pie Blends pens. Once the coloring was done I cut them out with the matching die in the bundle.

The words are from the "Go To Greetings" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the second largest ribbon die from the "Stylish Shapes" set.

I set the flowers and word piece in place on the front of the card with Dimensionals and the card was done.

This is a very quick and easy card to make. The coloring took the longest to do but it went pretty fast. I plan on making more using this bundle, it's fun and easy.

Throughout The Year, Bee Mine, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. As I was sitting at my worktable I'm noticing the "Bee Mine" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP). It would seem like such a waste to not use it but to find something to use it on that isn't for Valentine's Day. Well, I found one of my favorite layouts and here's what I did with the DSP.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock. Once cut in half it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut the Basic White card stock at 3-1/8" x 4-1/4" and the DSP was cut at 3" x 3". I set the DSP on top so I could eye where the words would go. 

The words are from the "Throughout the Year" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. 

Next I taped the DSP in place and added a piece of ribbon. My ribbon is retired but it's what I had and that stuff needs to be used up too! But you can grab your current ribbon and make it work. I taped the ends of the ribbon to the back and then slipped the ribbon, still on the spool, under the taped ribbon and tied a knot. Then I cut the ribbon off the spool. You can save a lot of ribbon doing that.

I glued the piece to the front of the card. You can tape but sometimes with ribbon on the back part it doesn't always want to stick in those areas. But I know glue will stick so I will opt for glue in cases like this.

And that was it. The card was done. I think in the future I may add another layer to the card base and texture it, the area around the focal piece looks like it could use something.

This was a super fun and quick card to make. I didn't use a lot of DSP but I did use some, plus I made two cards at the same time so I was able to use a little bit more DSP and I got two quick cards out of the deal.

Flowering Zinnias, Softly Sophisticated, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I had saved them to my zinnia board and lo and behold I realized it was made by Terri! You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I made my version of the card. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. On this piece of card stock I cut the large layer using the second largest die from the "Nested Essentials" set. Then I taped the layer down on the card base.

A piece of Lemon Lolly was cut for the next layer and it measured 4" x 5-1/4". Then I taped it on top of the Pumpkin Pie piece.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Flowering Zinnias" 12" x 12" package. I cut my piece 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". It was supposed to be cut in half but I measured wrong. It doesn't really matter, it will be pretty no matter how you cut it. My piece was cut at 2-3/4" I turned the right side over and taped the two in place on top of the Lemon Lolly layer.

The words are from the retired "Softly Sophisticated" Sale-a-Bration set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut it using the next smaller die in the same "Nested Essentials" set. I taped the layers together and then taped them to the front of the card. I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it.

A flower was fussy cut from the same sheet of DSP and was set in place on front of the card using Dimensionals. And the card was done.

Simply Zinnia, Flowering Zinnia, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today my "Simply Zinnia" bundle was delivered.  YAY.  So of course I had to open the stamp set and create a card to share with you today. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock for the layer.

A 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the top layer and it was textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued this piece to the Blackberry Bliss piece and then that was taped to the card base.

I cut a 3" x 2-3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flowering Zinnia" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to a 3-1/4" x 3" piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock and then I glued that to the front of the card. I use glue because I find that tape does not make 100% contact with the textured pieces and therefor will not hold as well and I know glue will hold.

The words are from the "Simply Zinnia" set and were stamped using BlackBerry Bliss ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them using the smallest die in the "Everyday Details" set.  I taped them to a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock that I die cut with the next largest die in that set. Dimensionals were added to the back and the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. I like the look of the flowers with the Blackberry Bliss card stock, it's a nice contrast.

Darling Details, Simply Zinnia, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy birthday card to share with you using the new "Simply Zinnia" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I was gifted some pieces of this pretty package so I've been playing with it until my order arrives. Coincidence that I ordered the Zinnia bundle and I received some Zinnia DSP in the mail. Maybe it wasn't but it's okay, it's such pretty paper and fun to play with. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Berry Burst card stock (that was in my packet with the Zinnia DSP, along with the Basic White card stock and other colors). I taped this piece to the card base. 

Next I cut my DSP at 3" x 3-3/4" for the top piece and 2" x 3-3/4" for the bottom piece. I taped the bottom piece on first and then the top piece. 

I fussy cut a Zinnia from one of the same sheet I used on the upper part of the card and I set it in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Darling Details" set and were stamped using Berry Burst ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. Then I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. Using the same punch I punched out the scalloped oval from a scrap piece of Berry Burst card stock. I taped the ovals together, added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was such a quick and simple card to make. I was going to point out to you how nicely I fussy cut that flower.  I really didn't cut it that nice. I don't enjoy fussy cutting and my distance between the image and the white I try to leave around it are never even. But if you take a marker or Blends pen and color around the edges the white goes away! Here I used the belly of my light Berry Burst Blends pen for the flower and my light Granny Apple Green Blends pen for the leaf. I think the leaf should have been Parakeet Party but I didn't have that color so I used what I thought was close and it worked. Don't see any white around the edges, do you? See "perfect" fussy cutting!

Enjoy the Rhythm, Simply Zinnia, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I still had my pieces of gifted "Simply Zinnia" Designer Series Paper (DSP) sitting on my worktable so I thought I'd play with them again today. You all know I never put anything away, everything is always sitting on my worktable! LOL Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued this piece to the front of the card base.  I actually cut and textured two pieces because of the way I had cut my DSP I was able to make two cards at the same time.

Next I took the floral DSP you see on the card and cut it at 2" x 3-3/4" and the Old Olive layer behind it was cut at 2-1/4" x 4".  

The Petal Pink dotted DSP is from the same package and was cut at 3" x 3-3/4" and the Old Olive layer was cut at 3-1/4" x 4".  I taped the layers together. 

Then I glued down the Petal Pink layer at an angle.  I was going to go with a more traditional layout but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something different for a change. 

The floral piece was glued in place in the upper left corner.

The "Enjoy the Rhythm" set was used for the words. I stamped them using Melon Mambo ink and punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. Using the same punch I punched out the scalloped oval. I taped the ovals together and then set them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make and I'm glad I angled the Petal Pink piece, it gave the card a unique look. Plus I think more of the Petal Pink DSP shows this way.

Days to Remember, Simply Zinnia, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

 

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another quick card to share with you. I love making quick cards as much as I love making cards with lots of layers.  Today's card has a little fun fold to it. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I scored the front of the card 1-1/4" from the fold. I glued that area shut. 

The splatter folder from the "Stripes & Splatters" embossing folder set was used on a piece of Basic White card stock. I trimmed that piece to 1" x 5-1/4" and I glued it to the left side of the card.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is the "Simply Zinnia" 12" x 12" package.  I think that's what it's called. I was gifted six 4" x 6" pieces along with matching card stock from Terri when I had placed an order with her. It's always fun to get things in the mail, isn't it?  So today I thought I'd play with the new stuff.  It also came with a technique page that has a card you make and then a small one the page for future reference. I have lots of those fun techniques in my binder. So back to the card. I cut my piece of DSP 3" x 5-1/2" and I taped it to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" and were stamped using black Memento ink. They were punched out using the "Double Oval" punch. I also used the same punch to punch out the Old Olive scalloped oval. I taped the ovals together, added Dimensionals to the back and I set it in place on the front of the card.  And that was it. A super quick and easy card to make. Oh and pretty too! Wouldn't this make a pretty Mother's Day card, get well card, thinking of you card, thinking of you card, friendship card, or a thank you card?  Such versatile paper. I love versatility with the items I work with.

Days to Remember, Perennial Lavender, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick and easy card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card  stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather for the layer.

Next I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package that measured 3-3/4" x 5" and I taped that to the Highland Heather piece and then I taped that to the card base.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched it out using the "Double Oval" punch. Using this same punch I punched out a scalloped Highland Heather oval. I taped the ovals together and set the piece in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. And the card was done.

I think it's great that you can put a card together so quickly that doesn't look like it. This is a great way to use up a whole sheet of DSP. You can get 6 cards from one sheet.  Such a deal!

Go To Greetings, Meandering Meadows, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I found a card on Pinterest that I thought I would make work with the Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I have. The link to it was broken and if I find the image again I will try to add a link that will work.  Please read on to see how I made mine. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut it in half on the short side. Once cut it measures 4-1/4" x 11". I scored it at 5-1/2".

I set the card on my scoring board and I scored the front on the inside at 2-3/4" and then two more score lines on each side of that line at 1/4" apart.  

Next, using the largest stitched circle die from the "Stylish Shapes" set I cut the image from the "Meandering Meadows" DSP 6" x 6" package. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside. Save the rest of the piece of DSP so you can use it on a future card. I'm sure I'll figure out one and post it! I'm trying to use things up. 

The words were stamped next and are from the "Go To Greeting" set. They were stamped using black Memento ink.

The circle was set in place and the card was done.  As quick and simple as that. And not to mention elegant looking too!

Days to Remember, Meandering Meadows, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm going to share with you a card I made using a leftover piece from yesterday's card.  It seems like either nothing goes to waste or it gets hoarded. I decided to use the piece and make a card. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued that to the card base.

Next I took my piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that measured 2" x 6" and I trimmed it to 2" x 5" and I taped it to a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I glued this to the front of the card about 1/4" from the top, folded side and bottom.  

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. I also used the same punch to punch out the scalloped Mossy Meadow oval piece. I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. And that was it. It was done and SO quickly too.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. It can also work for other occasions too, like sympathy, get well, thank you or thinking of you.  Lot's of versatility in this card.

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another quick and easy card to share with you. It's got layers which is always one of my favorite things. I love layering. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 5-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. Then I cut a 5" x 2-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Meandering Meadows" 6" x 6" package. I just love those 6" x 6" packages. There's lots of pieces (48) and such wonderful images. Anyway, I taped the two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card about 1/4" from the top, fold side and bottom. 

Next I cut a  4-1/4" x 2" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and a 4" x 1-3/4" piece of DSP. My DSP was cut from what was left after the first cutting so it kind of lines up with the first layered image. I taped the pieces together and then taped to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. Using the same punch I punched out a Mossy Meadow scalloped oval for the layer. I taped the ovals together and then set the piece in place using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

This was such a quick and simple card to make. Plus it used up almost the whole 6" piece of DSP. I have enough left to make another card. The image is still pretty no matter how much is cut from it.

Heartfelt Hexagon, Birthday or Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I the card I have to share with you was copied from one I found on Pinterest. I liked the layout and I have lots of Designer Series Paper (DSP) to use up. You can see the card I'm referring to here. There were no measurements there so please read on to see how I made it. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Lemon Lime Twist card stock. This is a color I rarely use. I had bought the variety pack when the colors came out and I still have quite a few sheets.  So when I was looking at the DSP from the "Bee Mine" 12" x 12" package, I thought the Lemon Lime Twist color would work best.  The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

Two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock were cut , one for the inside and one for the outside. The piece on the outside was textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card and I taped the other piece to the inside.

I cut my DSP 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" and the Lemon Lime Twist layer was cut at 2-3/4" x 4". I taped these two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was centered on the front of the card. I just eyes it.  

The words are from the "Heartfelt Hexagon" set and were stamped using Poppy Parade ink. I first stamped them in black but I didn't like it. Then I used Lemon Lime Twist ink and I didn't like that either, so I thought it would either have to be Balmy Blue or Poppy Parade. Poppy Parade won. I punched it out using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was et in place on the front of the card. And the card was done.

I like this simple look and how I was able to use the Valentine's Day themed DSP for a card other than for Valentine's Day!

Cutest Cows, Days to Remember, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

 

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another "Cute Cows" card to share with you. This is a fun stamp set and I love adding that wiggling piece behind it to make it a more interactive card. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Be Mine" 12" x 12" package. It's nice to be able to use the Valentine's Day DSP for other card occasions. I hate being stuck with DSP that is designated for a certain occasion. Versatility is what it's all about for me. I cut that piece of DSP 4" x 5-1/4".  I had taped it to the front of the card base. I had done this a couple of weeks ago and set it aside. 

I also found the stitched square on my table and thought I'd work it into this card too. It's from the "Stylish Shapes" set and was cut on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. Sometimes I like finding pieces on my worktable that I can use on a card but I forget what sets they come from and I have to do research! On this square I scrubbed on some Granny Apple Green on the bottom and Soft Sky on the top using my Blending Brushes. I stamped some grass using Granny Apple Green ink. Then I cut a 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. I taped the squares together and then taped it to the front of the card about 1/4" from the top and side edges.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. Using the same punch I also punched out the scalloped oval in Daffodil Delight card stock. I taped the ovals together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The cow was stamped using black Memento ink and was punched out. I colored in the spot with my Basic Black marker and the nose with my Petal Pink marker. I glued on my wiggle spring piece using the Tombow Mono glue and pressed it on the cow's head. I let it sit for a minute and then I added glue to the bottom of the piece and set the whole thing on the front of the card, over the upper part of the cow's body. And that was it, the card was done.  Fun, isn't it?

I'm having issues with my photos coming though and will post it as soon as I can get it to come through.

Cutest Cows, Days to Remember, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I thought I'd play with the "Cutest Cows" set. Please read on to see how the card was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock, one for the inside and one for the outside. I taped the inside piece in place. 

On the outside piece I took a mask I made of the largest stitched circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" die set and using post it tape I taped the mask to the front piece. Then I took my Blending Brush and scrubbed on some Granny Apple Green ink on the bottom and Soft Sky ink on the upper part. 

I stamped the grass using the image from the same "Cutest Cows" set with black Memento ink. 

The cow was stamped next. It comes in two pieces, a body and a head. I stamped them on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I punched the pieces out with the matching punch. I taped the body in place on the circle. The head was added using a wiggly spring.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. Using the same punch I punched out the scalloped oval punch on a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock. I taped the two ovals together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. I love the wiggly head!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick and easy card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I liked they layout because it allows you to use some Designer Series Paper (DSP) scraps or full sheets. You can make 12 layers from one sheet of DSP! So get to work and use up some of that DSP in your stash. I know you have a stash! LOL My stash is pretty large and it's a bit overwhelming but I am going to be taking a full sheet of some retired stuff every few days and make a 12 cards. I will be donating a lot of these cards this fall. So let's get started.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather card stock for the layer. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock that I textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Go To Greetings" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I die cut them and the Highland Heather layer using the two smallest rectangle dies from the "Everyday Details" die set.

I taped the words to the layer. Dimensionals were added to the right side of the piece and glue to the left. I opted for glue so I would be able to move it around a bit to get it centered enough by eying it.  And that was it. Pretty and easy!

This was a fun card to make and if you are in need of a super quick card, this is the way to go!
