Softly Sophisticated, Everyday Details, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Don't you think Sale-a-Bration (SB) should last longer. It's not enough time to play with all of the new stuff before it retires. I may pop in a few cards in the future from the SAB because I just didn't get to play with them enough. Today I made a card from the SAB free book. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued that to the card base.

Next I took another piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the rectangle using the "Everyday Details" die set. It just came today and I'm hoping it makes it to the new yearly catalog. As I was looking at it I realized there is no dies in there that are connected to other stamp set images, it's just rectangles, circles an lines.  So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be in the new annual catalog. Anyway, after die cutting the rectangle frame I stamped the leaves from the "Softly Sophisticated" set using Granny Apple Green ink. I stamped it up higher on the piece because I wanted the words to be below them and off to the side. 

The flowers were stamped using Crushed Curry ink. I was debating between Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight. Either would be pretty but I went with the darker color. I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on the front of the card about 3/4" from the top and 3/4" from the fold.

The words are from the same "Softly Sophisticated" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Granny Apple Green ink. I die cut it using the circle die in the "Everyday Details" set. I added Dimensionals to the bottom area and a bit of glue to the upper left area. I set the piece in place on top of the rectangle panel.

I don't really like the open area to the left of the word circle on the rectangle. It needs something there. I may grab one of those brushed brass butterflies. What do you think, add something or leave it as it is?

Softly Sophisticated, Color & Contour, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a sweet card to share with you. I found the original card on Pinterest, you can see it by clicking here. I made a few changes but it's pretty much the same layout. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the largest layer.

The next layer is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Softly Stippled" 12" x 12" package. I used the Pebble Path stippled flower piece and brayered on some Highland Heather ink. I was not pleased with the way it looked so I set it aside on my worktable (where all orphaned pieces go to await their fate LOL).  I ran across it today and liked the way the ink looked on the piece. It had dried and looked nothing like it did the other day when I first put the ink on it. I trimmed it to 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". When I trim pieces like this that you can only see a sliver of the layer behind it, I will trim it on the right side of the mark on the paper cutter. This gives me a sliver less paper so a bit more of the layer behind it shows. 

Next I cut a 1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. I taped it to the piece of DSP. Then I trimmed each end. A piece of black Baker's Twine was tied around this and it was glued in place on top of the large Basic Black layer. Then that was taped to the card base.

Then I die cut the scalloped rectangle using the third largest die from the "Color & Contour" bundle. There's stitching on the inside of that piece and it acts as a border for the Highland Heather piece of card stock that was cut at 3-5/16" x 2-1/16". It was taped to the scalloped piece. 

The Basic White focal piece was cut at 1-15/16" x 3-3/16".  

Next came the stamping. The leaves from the "Softly Sophisticated" set were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. Then the flowers were added using Highland Heather ink. The piece was taped in place on top of the Highland Heather piece of card stock and then that was taped to the scalloped rectangle piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the same "Softly Sophisticated" set and were stamped using Highland Heather ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and then fussy cut. They were set in place on the right side of the focal piece using Dimensionals. 

I had some embellishments I found on my worktable and I colored them with my dark Highland Heather Blends Pen before adding them to the front of the card.  And that was it, the card was done.

I do like how it turned out and I'm thrilled that the piece of brayered DSP turned out great after all.

Flight & Airy, Days to Remember, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm going to share with you a card I found on Pinterest. I thought it was pretty and very easy to make. What I like about this use of Designer Series Paper (DSP) is that you can use up quite a bit of it in your stash and make pretty card. So after I post this card I'm going to pull out a few packages of retired DSP and whip together some cards to donate. A win win situation, right? I get rid of some DSP and someone else in need can have the cards they need. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I made today's card. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Shaded Spruce card stock for the layer. Then I cut the DSP from the "Flight & Airy" 12" x 12"package, it measured 4" x 5-1/4". I could have cut the piece 1-3/4" smaller but then I'm stuck with some strips I will probably not use, so I just used the piece as I had cut it. I taped that to the front of the card base.

Next I cut a 1-3/4" x 4" piece of DSP from the same package. I taped that to the bottom of the DSP with the birds on it.

When I had cut the piece of Shaded Spruce I kept the scrap. I took that piece and cut it to 4" long and then I taped it to the front of the card just above the bottom piece of DSP.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I tend to use these words for my cards because they fit in the "Double Oval" punch so nicely. I stamped them on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and then I punched them out. I also punched out the Shaded Spruce Scalloped oval using the same punch. I taped the ovals together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. 

I thought the card could use a little bling so I added  butterfly from the "Brushed Brass Butterflies" package.  It was just enough. I like these little butterflies because you can add some bling and not have to be concerned about the card not going through the mail without adding extra postage. 

This was a fun card to make and I especially like how quickly it went together. Plus I now have a nice layout for my retired DSP! I plan to be using that stuff up quickly with this layout!

Days to Remember, Flight & Airy, Wedding or Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a simple wedding or anniversary card to share with you.  I'm leaning more towards wedding. What do you think when you see this card? Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Boho Blue for the layer and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I textured that piece using the "Layered Florals" embossing folder. I taped the Boho Blue piece on the card base and then I glued that to the embossed piece to the Boho Blue piece.

The birds are from the "Flight & Airy" 12" x 12" package. I punched them out using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. I also punched out a Boho Blue hexagon. This could be done on the Boho Blue layer piece before you tape it to the card base. I had a piece that already had a large circle removed from the center so I had to use a separate piece of card stock. I took the Boho Blue piece and cut it in half. I taped one to the upper part of the bird piece and one to the lower part. Now it looks like it's got a nice big layer behind it. 

I die cut the ribbon piece using the largest die from the "Stylish Shapes" die set. I taped the layered bird piece to it. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. Using the same punch I punched out the scalloped oval on a scrap piece of Boho Blue. I taped the ovals together and then I glued them to the front of the card. And the card was done.

This is such a pretty elegant looking card and it was very quick to make.

Flight & Airy, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have a card to share with you that I happened on by a happy accident. When I was making the card I posted yesterday I had punched out several birds using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. I just left them sitting on my worktable (of course I did) after finishing my card. I had opened up Pinterest today and this layout for the birds happened to pop up.  How uncanny is that? You can see the original card here. It's got a fun fold but I didn't make mine that way. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flight & Airy" 12" x 12" package. I taped this piece to the front of the card. 

A 1" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the same package was cut for the side strip. And a 1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock was cut and taped to the back of the 1" strip. About 1/8" piece of the Flirty Flamingo piece was left showing. This was then taped to the front of the card.

The birds are from the "Flight & Airy" package using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. I taped the top and bottom one in place and the center one was added using Dimensionals.

Pearls were added to the sides of each hexagon and the card was done.

I think it's a pretty card but one that I don't usually make cards with no words on the front. I'm not sure what occasion this would fall under. I'm sure quite a few like Anniversary, thinking of you, Birthday, Wedding?  Not sure. I prefer cards with words on the front. It was fun to make and I do like the pretty colors. I'm amazed at how many cards can be made using the "Flight & Airy" DSP. Makes me wonder if I should have just gotten the paper instead of all the other stamp sets I bought and have hardly used because I keep making cards with this beautiful paper. LOL

Flight & Airy, Days to Remember, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today's card is done with a layout I don't use too often. I don't remember that the fold/layout/technique is called but it's very easy to do. As you can see I'm still using the "Flight and Airy" Designer Series Paper (DSP), mostly because it hadn't been put away and I'm lazy! LOL Please read on to see how I made today's card. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the DSP and I marked center on the right side and measured in from that mark to 2". You can draw a light line from mark to mark. Then snip from the outside mark to the inside mark. Fold back each side. I like to add a dot of glue to hold down the pieces. And make sure you burnish the fold so it stays down nicely too, make it nice and crisp.

I punched the birds from the same DSP package using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. I also cut two Boho Blue hexagons too. I taped them behind the DSP piece creating the look of a layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was laid on top of the front of the card. I didn't stick it in place I am just setting it on the front to see how much space I have for the words.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using Boho Blue ink. 

Now the card was ready for the bird piece. It was set in place and the card was done.

Isn't that amazing how little work you do to make a pretty card quickly?

Flight & Airy, Darling Details, Deckled Rectangles, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty bird card to share with you that I found on Pinteret. You can see the original here. I clicked through but there was no link to any instructions or measurements so once again I winged it. Please read on to see how I made this card with the materials I have. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock, it opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White for the layer and textured it using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder. I glued that to the card base.

Then I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flight and Airy" 12" x 12" package.  This piece measured 4" x 2-1/2". 

On top of the DSP is a piece of Basic White that was cut using the 3rd smallest rectangle from the "Deckled Rectangles" die set. 

Using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Balmy Blue ink.

The birds are from the same package of DSP and were fussy cut. Dimensionals were added to the back.  I laid them on top of the deckled rectangle to see where the words would go. The words are from the "Darling Details" set and were stamped using Balmy Blue ink.

I taped the deckled piece to the DSP and then I glued that to the front of the card. The birds were set in place. A few pearls were added and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I am a bit disappointed because I should have used Boho Blue ink for the background inking instead of Balmy Blue. Other than that I do like the card. You just can't seem to go wrong with these bird images.

Days to Remember, Softly Sophisticated, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a very pretty card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.  I clicked through the link but got no information on measurements so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock for the layer. On top of that is a piece of 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Softly Stippled" 12" x 12"package. The DSP was taped to the Pool Party piece but not taped to the front of the card.

A 3" x 3-3/4" piece of DSP from the same package was cut and then taped on top of the larger piece of DSP. A piece of Pool Party colored ribbon (mine is retired) was added to the piece. I cut it at 7" piece and I taped the ends to the back of the piece.

Next I cut a 2-5/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Pool Party card stock for the smaller back layer. On top of that is a 2-3/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. And the Basic White focal piece was cut at 2-1/4" x 2-1/2".  I taped the Mossy Meadow piece to the Pool Party layer and I set it aside.

Using the Basic White piece I stamped the stems from the "Softly Sophisticated" using Mossy Meadow ink. The flowers were stamped using Pool Party ink. 

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. Then this piece was taped to the Pool Party/Mossy Meadow layers.  Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

This was such a fun card to make. I LOVE lots of layers on cards but they do take a bit longer than the more simpler cards do but now and then you need to spend some time on an card and have some fun.

Meandering Meadows, Softly Sophisticated, Countryside Corners, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a simple and quick sympathy card to share with you. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. It opens this was because that was the way the paper was cut that was sitting on my worktable. I'm trying to use up things that are sitting around for no apparent reason. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and textured it using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.

The image is from a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Meandering Meadows" 6" x 6" stack. I die cut it using the "Countryside Corners" die set. The third largest one was used for the DSP and the second largest one was used to make the Basic Black layer. I taped the two pieces together and then glued that to the front of the card.

The words were stamped a while ago and I do not know what set they are from. If you know, please let me know so I can add that to my post here. The words were punched using the "Double Oval" punch and the Basic Black scalloped layer was made using the same punch. I taped the two ovals together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.  As quick and easy as that!

This was a super quick card to make and I REALLY like that DSP. There's lots of pretty designs in that package and I have no regrets getting it. And there's not one scene in it that I don't like.

Submarine Life, Children's Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun children's card to share with you. I thought it looked cute so I had to make one. I saw the original card on Pinterest but my computer rebooted and I lost the link. If you know who is the original designer of this card, please let me know so I can give them a link back. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Lost Lagoon card stock for the layer. I taped that to the card base.

Then I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock to stamp on. I first stamped on the waves at the top. I used Pool Party, Balmy Blue and Coastal Cabana inks.

Next I stamped the seaweed on the bottom. I used Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist inks.

The starfish and crab at the bottom were stamped using Lost Lagoon ink.

The fish were stamped using Pool Party ink. Using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Balmy Blue over he whole piece.

The words are from the same set, which I forgot to mention, it's the "Submarine Life" set. I used Lost Lagoon to stamp them.

Using a scrap piece of Basic White card I stamped the submarine and the propeller. These two pieces were punched out. I glued the propeller to the back of the submarine. Using a spring I glued it to the front of the card and then to the back of the submarine. It's now a wiggly submarine. Just thought I'd add a little more fun to the card. 

This was a fun card to make. LOTS of stamping but so worth it.

Days to Remember, Fresh as a Daisy, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

 Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

My Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Fresh as a Daisy" 12" x 12" package. I am using this piece because it was sitting on my worktable and this is my idea of cleaning off my table. It was more like "oh look a piece of DSP, I should use it!" And that thought came along with the idea that I would have to find the package it belongs to and put it back. So why not use it, right?  LOL  It was probably sitting on my worktable because it measured 5-1/4" x 3-7/8".  Not a usual size I would use for my layer.  I don't remember why it was on my table but now it's on a card!  I taped that piece to the card base.

The words are from "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. Then using the same punch I punched out a Wild Wheat scalloped oval. I taped the two ovals together. I don't know about you, but I find it a little difficult to tape ovals evenly. I struggle with it every time. Dimensionals were added to the back of the oval piece and it was set in place on the front of the card. And the card was done.

This is one thing nice about using busier DSP on your card. It pretty much makes up the card. It makes for a quick card and it's still very pretty!

Softly Sophisticated, Softly Sophisticated, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blot. Today I have a pretty card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I was still wanting to play with the "Softly Sophisticated" set and when I saw this card I thought it would be fun to make. There's no instructions on how to make this card so please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4"piece of Crumb Cake card stock. I stamped it using the leaves and flowers images from the "Softly Sophisticated" set with Crumb Cake ink. 

Then I cut a 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock and textured it using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder. I glued that to the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock.

I took a 6" piece of vanilla ribbon (retired) and taped the ends to the backside. Then I glued the piece to the front of the card base.

The image was stamped next. I used Garden Green for the leaves and Highland Heather for the flowers. I die cut them using the 10th largest die from the "Deckled Circles" set. Then I die cut a Highland Heather card stock layer using the 9th largest die from the same set. I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 3/8" from the fold and 3/8" from the top. 

The words are from the "Go To Greetings" set and were stamped on a 3/8" x 3" strip of Very Vanilla and were stamped using Crumb Cake ink. I snipped the ends to about 3/8" from the words on each end. Then I snipped the "V" on each end. Tape was added to the left side and a Dimensional was added to the right side.

I thought bottom looked a bit too empty so I added a few pearls to brighten it up a bit.  And that was it.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make.

Softly Sophisticated, Darling Details, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I searched Pinterest to find a card using the "Softly Sophisticated" set. I found this card and you can see the original one here. I was not able to find any information on it so I had to guess on how it was made. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I use Basic White to save on the solid colors because the white is less expensive than the colors. This way it extends my inventory of colored card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and I taped it to the card base.

Next I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder. I glued that to the top of the Lost Lagoon piece.

A 5" x 2" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock was cut for the strip and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Softly Stippled" 12" x 12" package that measured 5" x 1-3/4". I taped the DSP to the Mossy Meadow strip and that was glued to the front of the card about 5/8" from the fold. 

Using a piece of Basic White card stock I die cut the scalloped rectangle using the die from the "Color & Contour" bundle. On this piece I stamped the leaves using Mossy Meadow ink. Then I stamped the flowers using Lost Lagoon ink.

The words are from the "Darling Details" and were stamped using Lost Lagoon ink. I'm thinking I probably should have used Mossy Meadow ink. Either is okay. I'm fine with how this turned out. This piece was then centered on the front of the card by eyeing it. A couple of brass butterflies from the "Brushed Brass Butterflies" package were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

I am pleased with how the cart turned out and it's ready to be signed and attached to the gift.

Artistically Inked, Cutest Cows, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you using the "Cutest Cows" bundle. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Subtles" 6" x 6" package. I taped that to the left side of the card along the fold.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using Pool Party ink about 1/4" from the bottom of the card and 3/8" from the right edge.

Using the "Deckled Circles" dies I used the 8th and 9th largest circles, a Basic White one and a Pool Party one.

On the Basic White circle I stamped the flowers. I used StazOn (because it was still on my worktable) and I colored them in using markers. I used Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green. Then I taped it to the Pool Party circle. Dimensionals were added to the back and I set it in place on the front of the card about 1/2" from the top and 1/2" from the fold.

The cow was made next. I stamped the body and head on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock.  I colored the mouth and ears using the Petal Pink marker and the bangs (do cows have bangs?), spots, tail and hooves were colored in using the Basic Black marker. The body was taped down and the head was added last. I was going to use Dimensionals but I remembered I had some adhesive springs that I had gotten a while back at Hobby Lobby and I thought I'd make a wobbly headed cow.  It's so cute.  You can make your own, I found a link on YouTube, click here to see it. I have made these before too. I have had great success in making them but I like to use the manufactured one because they are quicker. And that's all there was to this card.

Bee My Valentine, Darling Details, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I found this sweet card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I did make a few changes. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock was cut and then textured using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder. I glued this piece to the front of the card base. 

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Bee Mine" 12" x 12" package. I was thrilled to see that there are images that are not just for Valentine's Day so they can be used for other cards/events.

Sweet Sorbet card stock was used here. Sometimes I forget about those in colors, especially the ones that are going to be retiring soon, I had already made room for the new ones and was using them. The Sweet Sorbet piece here was cut at 2-5/8" x 3-7/8" and the Basic White piece on top of it measures 2-1/2" x 3-3/4".  The words from the "Bee My Valentine" set were stamped first using black Memento ink. Then the flower stems were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. The flowers were stamped using Petal Pink and Sweet Sorbet ink. I taped the layers together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside.

The flowered DSP was cut at 3" x 4" and the honeycomb DSP was cut at 1-1/2" x 4". I glued this piece in pace on the front of the card about 1" from the left side of the card base edge. 

Next I stamped the bee. Daffodil Delight was used for the body and black Memento ink for the details. I stamped the antenna separate and fussy cut it out. The wings were stamped using black StazOn on a piece of Vellum. The bee and the wings were punched out. The wings were glued to the back of the bee and the antenna was glued to the face area. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

The "thank you" is from the "Darling Details" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I used the second smallest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. I sponged on a little Sweet Sorbet around the edges to add some color. I was going to layer it but the next larger circle was just too big, so sponging some ink on it was the way to go.

I set the rectangle piece in place it's not quite centered, it's off a bit to the right side. Then the bee was added. For the words I used two small Dimensionals, one at the top and one at about the 10 o'clock position (2- o'clock when you have it turned over).  I added a little bit of glue to the right and bottom area of the circle and I set it in place on the front of the card.

I now turned a Valentine's Day theme into a thank you card.  Fun, huh? Just trying to get a little more use out of a set that is only used for a few days. Now I can whip up a few more thank you cards to justify buying this bundle!

Meandering Meadows, Heartfelt Hexagon, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm in the need of a sympathy card. I don't need it till the weekend but I want to get it done early so I'm not rushing at the last minute because I forgot. Please read on to see how I made today's super quick and easy card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The image is from the "Meandering Meadows" 6" x 6" stack. I cut the piece 3" x 3".  

Next I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock that measures 3-1/8" x 3-1/8". I taped the two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card. I often use a small dot of tape to the center of the piece so I can see where the words will be going. If I tape the entire piece in place I am pretty sure I will somehow smudge the piece and then I need to try to remove the taped piece. So I just give it a little tape to hold it so I can see where the words go and then after stamping I affix the layers in place.

The words are from the "Heartfelt Hexagon" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. And that was it. Super easy. Super quick. And pretty too!

Bee Mine, Darling Details, Days to Remember, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. It's quick and easy to make plus it's colorful. When I sat down to make a card today my thought was that I wanted to make a colorful card. I think I succeeded! Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 5-1/4" x 2-1/8".  I textured that piece using the "Softly  Sophisticated" embossing folder. Then I glued it to the left side of the card.

The 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Bee Mine" 12" x 12" package. I was thrilled when I saw that design in the package, it meant that I can use it beyond Valentine's Day because it's not hearts, it's just pretty cute little flowers.  I taped the DSP to the front of the card. I think I should have cut it at 2" and maybe it would not have had so much white showing on the right side. Didn't notice that till I mentioned it, did you?  Shhhh, don't tell anyone!  But I'd recommend cutting yours at 2" and taping it down first and then gluing the textured piece.

Next I cut a piece of Basic White to measure 2-1/2" x 3-3/4".  I stamped the flowers from the "Darling Details" bundle using Poppy Parade ink. The stems and leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. Then I layered it on a piece of Poppy Parade card stock that measured 2-3/4" x 4".  I glued that to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Granny Apple Green ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. 

Using the same punch I punched out the scalloped oval Poppy Parade layer. The two ovals were taped together, Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And that was it.

So bright and cheery, huh? I think this card could be used for a number of other occasions too!

Darling Details, Perennial Lavender, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how I made it.

This is one of my favorite layouts. It creates a nice focal piece for your Designer Series Paper (DPS).  

For my card I cut a half-sheet of Basic White card stock and folded it in half. Before folding it, it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock for the layer.  

The Baisc White piece measures 3-1/8" x 4-1/4" and the DSP from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package measures 3" x 3". I taped the two pieces togethr making sure the DSP was lined up at the top and sides, leaving the bottom open for the words.

The words are from the "Darling Details" set and were stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink. 

After stamping I took a 6" piece of 1/4" ribbon and taped the ends to the back. Then I glued the piece to the Gorgeous Grape piece.

I fussy cut a bird from the "Perennial Lavender" DSP and I set it aside.

Two leaf clusters were die cut from the "Textured Floral" bundle using Basic White card stock. Using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Highland Heather ink. I loaded up my brush and then I went from the stem to the top of the leaves I only went in one direction. This creates the look of the darker shaded area under the leaves. 

The leaves were glued in place and the bird was set in place on top using Dimensionals. 

For a final touch I added a brass butterfly and the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make.

Throughout the Year, Perennial Lavender, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a floral birthday card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest but the image was tiny in a small group of other cards. There was no link to find the original poster so I had to wing it.  You can see that grouping here. Please read on to see how I made today's card. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock for the layer.

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and then textured using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder from the 2024 Sale-a-Brations catalog. I glued it to the Gorgeous Grape piece.

Next I die cut the scalloped rectangle using the die from the "Color & Contour" bundle on Highland Heather card stock.

A 2-5/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Basic White was cut for the center of the Highland Heather piece. And the Designer Series Paper (DPS) is from the "Perennial Lavender" and was taped to the Basic White piece. Then that was taped to the Highland Heather piece. And then that was glued to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Throughout the Year" set and was stamped using Versa Mark with white embossing powder sprinkled on top. I heat set it and then die cut it using the smallest die in the "Deckled Rectangles" die set. 

I took a 6" piece of ribbon (retired) and crossed it on itself. A glue dot was used to hold it together and another one was used to stick it to the DSP.  Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place on top of the card. And the card was done.

Isn't it pretty? I love these colors and that DSP. I'm not a big fan of heat embossing. I'm not sure why, maybe I'm just too lazy to get up and get the Versa Mark in one spot and then the embossing powder in another place and then the heat tool. Not sure why but I do like how it looks when I'm done.

Days to Remember, Perennial Postage, Flight & Airy, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see it here.  There is no link so I had to guess at how it was made. Please read on to see how I made this card. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Misty Moonlight card stock. Once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  I a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I taped it to the inside. I cut a quarter sheet of Basic White card stock and cut the largest die from the "Perennial Postage" die set.  I taped it to the front of the card. Using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Misty Moonlight and Highland Heather ink.

Next I cut a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer. Before I textured it using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder, I die cut a circle using the second largest die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I saved the circle for a future card (hopefully!).  I didn't have the circle used on the original card. The piece was set in place using Dimensionals. 

I didn't have the same leaves as on the original card so I used some from the "Textured Floral" bundle. Using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Fresh Freesia ink. I had die cut two sets and I did clip pieces off it to make the areas look fuller.  I glued them in place.

Two birds were fussy cut from a sheet in the "Flight & Airy" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I set them in place with Dimensionals. I doubled up on the Dimensionals for extra height because the birds heads tilted too much toward the center of the circle.  

I also did not have any current ribbon so I took some Night of Navy ribbon that I had and I cut it in half lengthwise. I tied a bow and glued it to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using Misty Moonlight ink. The "Dual Oval" punch was used for the words and for the Misty Moonlight card stock for the scalloped layer. It was glued in place on the front of the card.

Three pearls were colored using the Night of Navy Blends Pen and set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

I like how this turned out even without having a lot (and I mean A LOT) of the element used on the original card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pretty Peacock for the base layer. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Lost Lagoon that I textured with the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder and then glued it to the Pretty Peacock piece. Then I taped those two to the card base.

I cut another piece of Pretty Peacock that measured 4-1/4" x 3".  On top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flight & Airy" 12" x 12" package. It measured 4" x 2-3/4".  I taped it to the Pretty Peacock piece and then that was glued to the textured Lost Lagoon piece

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. I also punched a Pretty Peacock scalloped oval using the same punch. I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

I love cards that are quick and easy to make and yet very pretty! This one covers all of that!

Flight & Airy, Wanted to Say, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a get well card to share with you. I found this card on Pinterest and I did make a little change to it. You can see the original card here. I did click on the link but was not given any measurements so please read on to see how this card was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Layered Florals" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card base.

Next I cut a circle around the birds from the "Flight & Airy" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper DSP) using the 5th smallest circle in the "Deckled Circles" die set. I had cut a 10 piece of ribbon (retired) and laid it across the card. I did glue it hold it down. Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle piece and it was set in place over the ribbon.

The word piece is from the "Wanted to Say" die set. I used Basic White for the words and Boho Blue for the layer behind it. I taped the words to the layer and the piece was set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals on the right side and glue on the upper left. And that was it, the card was done.

It's so pretty and cheerful looking. It was a fun card to make and very quick and easy too.

Painted Lavender, Throughout the Year, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty birthday card to share with you. I found the basics of this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how the card was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 1" x 5-1/2" strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package. A 3/8" x 5-1/2" piece of Lost Lagoon was cut for the strip.

A 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and then textured using the "Layered Florals" embossing folder to texture the piece. I glued that piece to the front of the card. Then I glued the DSP to the left side. The Lost Lagoon strip was glued in place. I set the piece aside to dry a bit.

Next I stamped the flowers from the "Printed Lavender" set using Highland Heather on the larger piece and Gorgeous Grape on the detailed piece. I cut them out using the matching die. At the same time I die cut the leaves behind the flowers using a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock.

I added a little bit of glue behind the leaves piece and set it in place at a slight angle. The original card had it set on the card pretty much straight up. I wanted to see more of the leaves than just the tips. The lavender flowers were glued down next. 

A double bow was tied using linen thread and set down on the front of the card with a glue dot. 

The words are from the "Throughout the Year" set using Gorgeous Grape ink. I used the second smallest die from the "Countryside Corners" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I colored some retired "Polished Dots" using my dark Highland Heather Blends pen. I set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was such a sweet looking card. Can you see why I had to make one?

Flight & Airy, Go To Greetings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I took a day off from blogging and cardmaking yesterday, I was just overly tired for some reason so I just slept half the day away.  So now I feel refreshed and back at cardmaking (plus the chores that were waiting yesterday are still here today!). I found this pretty card on Pinterest but was unable to find instructions for it. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I put it all together. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut the sheet in half on the 8-1/2" side so once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11"  It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I like to cut a piece of card stock to tape my Designer Series Paper (DSP) to so I cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 4" x 5-1/4".

The DSP is from the "Flight & Airy" 12" x 12" package and my piece was cut at 4" x 5-1/4".  I cut 2" off the top of that and used the flip side of that piece for the top. I taped both pieces on top of my piece of card stock. I also cut a 1/4" strip of the blue DSP from a sheet in the package. I cut it 4" long.  I taped that across the middle seam of the two pieces. I didn't press down on the tape so I could slip the half doily piece in place. It's from the "Delightful Doily" die set and was cut from a piece of Basic White card stock.  I cut it in half. A little glue was added to the solid part just above the lace and slipped under the taped blue strip.

Next I die cut a Basic White circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set using the third largest circle in that set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on front of the card, lining up the bottom of the circle with the roundness of the solid part of the doily piece.

The bird is from the same "Flight & Airy" DSP package and was fussy cut. It was then set in place on top of the circle. Leave enough room for the words.

The words are from the "Go to Greetings" set and were stamped on a 3/8" strip of Basic White card stock using Boho Blue ink. Once stamped the ends were snipped and the piece was taped in place on the circle. Only use tape where the piece will be touching the circle.  And the card was done.

Isn't it pretty? If I loved fussy cutting I'd make a few of these to have on hand but I'm not so this will be the only one for now! It was a fun card to make and it really didn't take that long either.

Days to Remember, Flight & Airy, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a very quick and easy birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flight & Airy" 12" x 12" package. The backside of that piece is the blue you see on the bottom part of the card and it measures 3-1/2" x 1-1/2".  I also cut a 3-1/2" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock to tape the DSP to. I do this to make sure my DSP is straight and the correct size. When I taped the DSP down I taped the bottom piece first and then the piece with the bird on it. 

A piece of 1/4" white ribbon was taped around to the backside of the piece. This is another reason why I use card stock. Taping the edges around the piece could cause the piece to buckle or even worse, tear. So I just play it save and use a piece of card stock. You can use any color you want if you cut it just a hair smaller so the edges of it won't show. 

Once the ribbon was taped on I glued it to a piece of 3-3/4" x 5"  Boho Blue card stock. Then the piece was taped to the card base.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" using Boho Blue ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. The layer behind it is Boho Blue and was punched with the same punch using the scalloped oval. I taped the two pieces together and added Dimensionals to the back. The piece was then set in place on the front of the card. I moved the oval over to the right so it hung over the edge of the Boho Blue layer. 

I took the end of the ribbon, still on the spool and slipped it under the taped ribbon, I tied a knot and cut the ends of the ribbon.

And the card was done. I think it's SO pretty and the DSP just makes a great focal point.

Enduring Beauty, Perennial Postage, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty and fun card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Misty Moonlight card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Bight of Navy was cut for the layer and the Basic White piece was cut at 3-3/4" x 5".  I also cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and I taped it to the inside.

The flower is from the "Enduring Beauty" set and was stamped using Night of Navy ink. 

Now for the fun part. The flower was colored in using a Blending Brush with Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green ink. There is a package of masks (stencils) called "Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks" and they are set in place over the outline and then colored in using the Blending Brush.  You start out with the large flower mask and lightly color over the open areas with Balmy Blue ink. It does help to add a little tape to the back of the card stock (I used removable tape) and then tape your mask down so it doesn't slip. Then color in the areas. Next was the detailed part for the flowers and you use the same Balmy Blue ink and it just darkens those areas.

The leaves were done using Granny Apple Green ink and you do the same thing. Start with the larger mask and then use the detailed one on top of that.

The link provides a video and in that video it was suggested to leave the large flower mask taped down and place the detailed one over the top of it. It is a bit difficult to see where that mask needs to go on the card stock but when you line it up with the notch on the top of the mask you can see where it goes and add your color.  And you can also use sponge daubers instead of the brush.  

Once the piece was colored it was textured using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder but you put it in the folder so the bumps will be on the back instead of the front. That way the front stays smooth but yet the piece has some fun texture.

I glued my piece to the Night of Navy piece and then that was taped to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Perennial Postage" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock. I die cut using one of the dies in the "Enduing Beauty" bundle. I wrapped some linen thread around the left side and tied a bow. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I found some (retired) White Perfect Accents and added them to the front of the card. I need to mail this but I didn't want pearls sticking up. These are nice and flat and did the job.

I did not stamp inside my card but if you watch the video you can add the flowers. They are really pretty but I usually don't decorate the inside of my cards.

It was fun to stencil and it's also pretty.
