The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Wild Wheat card stock for the layer and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock for the top layer.
On the left is a 1" x 5-3/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Let's Go Fishing" 12" x 12" package. And a 1/2" strip of DSP from the same package was cut for the piece next to the first piece. Those were taped down.
The four fish are from another sheet of DSP and were fussy cut because I did not order the bundle, I just bought the DSP. I used a thumb tack and poked a hole in each fish. I added Dimensionals to the back of each one (avoid the hole). I took some white Baker's Twine and colored it using my dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen and set that aside to dry a bit.
A scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock was used for the words. They are from the "Throughout the Year" set and were stamped using Wild Wheat ink. Then they were die cut using the second smallest rectangle from the "Deckled Rectangles" die set. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the bottom right.
Now back to the twine. I tied a knot in one end and then thread the fish onto it. I did find it easier to thread them after adding a bit of school glue to the end (let it dry for a few seconds). Once they were all strung I set them in place on the front of the card (after removing the backing on the Dimensionals - I did each fish individually).
A knot was tied on the other end of the twine (my twine was about 7" total) and set it on top of the card using some school glue on it. I was going to use the mono glue but that stays sticky and I didn't like the idea of the card being stuck inside of the envelope. School glue dries quickly and it stuck well. And that was it, the card was done.
This was a fun card to make and I do like how it turned out.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
