The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder I got free from the Sale-a-Brations catalog. I glued that to the card base.
Then I cut a 2-1/8" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP and taped it to a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Boho Blue card stock. I glued that piece to the front of the card about 5/8" up from the bottom edge.
The words are from the "Heartfelt Hexagon" set and were stamped using Versa Mark and then white embossing powder was heat set on them. Then they were punched out using the Hexagon punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. It worked out kind of nice that there were no birds where the hexagon piece went, it was kind of like it was meant to go there. And that was it. Quick and simple.
This was a fun card to make and I like that it was quick and easy to do. Another fun thing was using that embossing folder, if it comes out perfectly straight (my first piece didn't so I had to redo it) you can line up your edges of your layers on it and everything is perfectly straight. Nice bonus there!
I thank you ever so much for taking your time to stop in and see today's sympathy card,
Wanda
