Sending Cheer, Joy of Christmas, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm happy you found your way here today. I have a simple card to share with you. Please read on to see how I made it.

With Christmas just around the corner, the holiday card making will soon be coming to an end. And then there's that time in between the day after Christmas and when the new order arrives in January. That's when I have to go to my other sets that were put aside to play with the new stuff. Hopefully I can get a bit more use out of them before they retire in May.  Anyway, here's how I made today's card:

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic White and textured it using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. I glued that piece to the front of the card.

Next I added the circles. They were left over from a card I made a while back and I just ran across them on my worktable. They were made using the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Joy of Christmas" 12" x 12" package. I used the 3rd smallest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" dies. I glued them in place on top of the textured layer.

The gingerbread man is from the "Sending Cheer" bundle and was stamped using Pecan Pie ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I stamped the face using black Memento ink and the hearts were stamped using Real Red ink. I die cut it with the matching die. I cut off the loop on the top. It's designed to be a tag. 

For the focal piece circles I die cut the Basic White one using the second largest stitched circle. And the Garden Green layer behind it was die cut using the 9th deckled circle in the "Deckled Circles" die set. I taped the two circles together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I stamped the words from the "Sending Cheer" using Real Red ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched it out using the "Double Oval" punch. The scalloped Garden Green oval was made using the same punch. I taped the two ovals together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

It was great to use up those DSP circles that were laying on my worktable that often times end up in the recycling bin. This was a fun, quick and easy card to make.
