Sending Cheer, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Can you believe it's Christmas Eve already?  This month went by so quickly.  I have a fun card to share with you. I found the Santa here and since I didn't need a tag I thought I'd make it into a card. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Granny Apple Green card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. I taped one to the inside and the one on the front I textured using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.

For the circles I used a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Shining Brightly" package. I was gifted some DSP from that package and this was the last piece. I had trouble trying to figure out what to use it on and I thought I'd try to work it into today's card. I'm not overly fond of it and that's probably why it was the last piece in my packet.  Anyway, I used the largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. And for the circle on top of it I used the second largest die on Shaded Spruce card stock. I taped the two pieces together.

The words are from the "Sending Cheer" bundle and were stamped using Shaded Spruce ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. I also punched out a Granny Apple Green scalloped oval from the same punch. I taped the ovals together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside.

The Santa was made using the dies from the "Sending Cheer" bundle. I die cut the hat from a scrap of Real Red card stock. The face was die cut using the smallest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set on a scrap piece of Bubble Bath card stock. The rest of the pieces were cut using the dies from the "Sending Cheer" bundle on scraps of Basic White card stock. The pom pom on the tip of the had was used three times on his face. Once for the pom pom and the other two on each side of his face. The other pieces were cut and then set in place. 

I glued the hat to the head. Then the side pieces were added, along with the pom pom on the hat. The beard piece was added next. Then the fluff on the hat was set in place using Dimensionals. And the mustache was added using Dimensionals. 

I used a black marker for the eyes and the nose is a Bubble Bath pearl from the "Blooming Pearls" package. 

Santa was glued in place on the circles and then the piece was glued to the front of the card.

The words were added to the upper left and the card was done.

I'm not overly impressed with the card but I really do like the Santa.
