Christmas Classics, Sending Cheer, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a cheery Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how today's card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green card stock. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White. When I cut this piece I cut it on the right side of the 3-7/8" line and then on the right side of the 5-1/8" line. This way it cuts off a little bit more so the Garden Green piece will show up a bit more on the edges. I often will cut the other piece (Garden Green here) on the left side of the mark so it will be a hair larger. I find it easier to layer the pieces when the top piece barely fits. Okay now that you know that fun cheat, let's move on. I textured the Basic White piece using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. 

The words from the "Christmas Classics" set were stamped next using Real Red ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them using the 1-7/8" die. Then I took the 2-1/8" die and cut the circle from the center of the Garden Green layer. It doesn't need to be exactly in the center but it needs to be away from the edges so it won't show when the layers are attached. I just try to get it as close to the center as possible by eyeing it. I taped the words to the Garden Green circle.

Next the gingerbread men were stamped. They are from the "Sending Cheer" bundle using Pecan Pie ink. The face was stamped using black Memento ink. They were die cut using the matching die. I also die cut the hearts using some Real Red scrap card stock. I glued the hearts in place.

To assemble the card I glued the Basic White textured piece to the Garden Green piece. Then I glued that to the card base. Dimensionals were added to the back of the gingerbread men and they were set in place on the card. A little bit of glue was added to the inner area of the arms and legs and the circle was set in place. I did add a Dimensional to the center of the circle so it wouldn't sag. A few red rhinestones were added to the background and the card was done. I had colored in some crystal rhinestones using my dark Real Red Blends pen.  And the card was done.

This was a fun and quick card to make. It's got the colors of Christmas that are super cheery!
