Let's Go Fishing, Darling Details, Masculine Birthday Cards, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another masculine card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest but was unable to find any instructions on how it was made. So I had to guess. You can see the original card here. Pleaser read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and taped it to the inside.

Next I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Let's Go Fishing" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the front of the card.

Then I cut a 3" x 3" piece of DSP from the same package. I was a bit hesitant about cutting this piece because this is where I get the fish I fussy cut. Then then I looked at the sheet and I still had over a half a sheet plus I have another whole one, so I cut it. I was thinking about buying another pack of this DSP but after realizing I still have a full sheet, I think I will be passing on the purchase. I'm sure I will find something else to buy! Always do! LOL Anyway, I cut a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock for the layer. I took my Blending Brush and scrubbed on some Pecan Pie ink. I tried Crumb Cake ink and thought it was too light but the Pecan Pie was a bit dark. So you can pick whichever one you think looks best. Try it out on a scrap piece of the DSP first. I also added some color to the edges of the DSP . Then I taped the DSP to the layer.

I had some burlap type ribbon for the front, it measured about 5". I took two strands of linen thread and tied a knot around the burlap ribbon closer to the left side. Then I taped the ends of the ribbon to the back of the square piece. And then that piece was glued to the front of the card. I opted for glue because I knew that would hold the ribbon down for a very long time!

The words are from the "Darling Details" set and were stamped using Pecan Pie ink. I fussy cut around them and then set them in place using small Dimensionals. And the card was done.

Another quick and easy card to make. A super easy layout. This was a fun card to make but I don't think I will make another one using this DSP because I want to save my fish for fussy cutting on other cards.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda

LOVE everything about this card.
The ribbon and the distressed edges on the DSP really work!
