The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock that was textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued it in place on the front of the card base. The glue wasn't quite dried enough when I took the pic so the card looks a bit warped. I used Tombow mono glue. Yup, the one that I have the love/hate relationship with. I love how it holds. I love that you have some wiggle room when using it so you can get your piece straight. I love that I can add some dots to a scrap piece of Dimensional backing and make my own glue dots. And I love that it holds so well. I hate it when it gets on my hands because it doesn't come off easily. It comes off but not as quick as other glues do.
Next I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that measured 3-1/8" x 4-1/4". And the DSP was cut at 3" x 3". I taped the DSP to the Basic White piece. Then I stamped the words. If you're unsure of your hand when stamping, you can just add a tiny amount of tape to the center of the DSP and set it in place so you can see where the words can go and if you ruin it while stamping you can easily remove the piece of DSP and cut another Basic White piece. The words I used here are from the "Layering Leaves" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink.
Once the words were stamped I took a 5-1/2" piece of Basic White ribbon (expired) and taped the ends on the back. I had used snail tape along the area where the DSP is (on the backside) and set the ends of the ribbon in place (on the backside). Then I used some scotch tape to hold them down. Don't get the scotch tape too close to the edges, you want to have room for the glue. Once the ribbon was added I glued the entire piece to the front of the card.
And for the final touch I cut a 4" piece of the same ribbon and slipped one end under the taped ribbon and tied a knot. 4" was way too much but I like to cut it long because I'm not the best trimmer. I often get one side shorter than the other so then I'm trimming that other side and then that side is shorter and I trim the other side. Sometimes it can result in a new piece of ribbon!! LOL Once the ribbon is the way you'd like it, that's it. The card was done!
This was a fun and quick card to make. I like that I can use some scraps up and make a decent looking card. This layout can be used for almost any occasion that would go with your DSP! As long as your word stamps fit in that area!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
