The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it on the inside of the card.
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Boho Blue card stock was cut for the layer. On top of that layer is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Countryside Inn" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the Boho Blue piece and then that was taped to the front of the card.
Next I cut a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock and a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic White for the top layer. I took the Basic White piece and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. Then I glued it to the Night of Navy piece. And that piece was then taped on top of the DSP.
Two leaves were stamped using Night of Navy ink on a scrap piece of Boho Blue card stock. I punched them out using the "Bough" punch. I also punched out a Night of Navy branch of leaves too. The original card showed that the Night of Navy leaves were stamped directly onto the Basic White piece. I had textured mine so that was out of the question. But punching one out works just as well.
Then I punched out two of the smaller flower images using the same "Bough" punch and a scrap piece of the "More Dazzle" specialty paper. I found this paper very difficult to punch because it's pretty thick.
I tied a double bow using some white and black Baker's Twine that I had in my stash. The original card used Night of Navy and white twine.
The words are from the same "Layering Leaves" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink. My words looks like it's black and not navy, but trust me, it's Night of Navy! I die cut them using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I am now ready to assemble the pieces.
I put a little bit of glue down on the textured Basic White piece about 1-1/4" up from the bottom edge of the textured piece. I place the Night of Navy leaf piece down first. Then the two stamped ones. I gently laid the word piece across the leaf stems to see where the bow should go. The bow was glued in place. Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place over the leaf stems. Then the two specialty paper pieces were glued in place. I added three pearls I to the piece. They were colored using my dark Night of Navy Blends pen. And the card was done!
This was a fun card to make and I do like how the texture on the Basic White piece added a bit more dimension to the card.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
