Cheerful Daisies, Give It A Whirl, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a little pretty that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. There was no link to the photo so I had to wing it! Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Bubble Bath card stock. The heart from the "Give a Whirl" die set. I don't know where the heart came from on the original card. I'm just using what I have. In the past I used to have all the items to make a card I saw but now I just try to use what I have and make it work.  This heart works so I ran with it. I set the Bubble Bath pieces aside.

Next I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued this to the Bubble Bath piece and then I taped that to the front of the card base.

The flowers from the "Cheerful Daisies were die cut using Basic White card stock. I cut two sets. I needed two of each except for the large one, I only needed one of them. I set it aside for a future card. There are three layers for the flowers. One, the back layer is solid. The second layer is solid but a bit smaller and the third layer is the top detailed one. The previous cards I made didn't have that solid back layer. I wasn't sure how that die was used. Now I know!

I stamped the flower centers using Lemon Lolly ink. Then I took a q-tip and colored around the center of the top layer pieces using Bubble Bath ink. I don't know how they were colored on the original card so I did what I thought would work. It's a little bit darker but it's still pretty. I glued the pieces together in the center and center areas on the top layer.

The leaves and ferny pieces were die cut using Soft Succulent card stock. The leaves are from the group of three daisies. I had cut them Basic White ones off when I was cutting the flowers apart for the card. Prior card I had made I kept the three flowers together. This just tells me how much more fun I can have with this set!

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Versa Mark and embossed using gold embossing powder. They were die cut using a die in the same set. 

Now to assemble. I took one set of leaves and glued the end to the card in the bottom right corner. I looked at the orientation from the original card. Next was the larger flower. I set it in place using Dimenisonals but I did not press down on it in case I needed to slip pieces under it.

The flower on the left was added next using glue, then the ferny piece was added, topped off with the half flower.

The leaves that you see under the heart were glued on next an then glue was added to the back of the heart and the heart was slipped under the largest flower. The last half flower was glued in place.

I glued the fern piece in place and then the last flower was glue din place, slipping a little bit of it under the largest flower and on top of the edge of the heart.

The words were set in place using Dimensionals were added to the back and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I think it's SO pretty.  See why I just had to make it?
