The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 3-3/4" x 5"piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer. The original card does not have any layers.
I took that layer and I scrubbed on some "Melon Mambo" ink using my Blending brush. What I did next was I spritzed on some water but it didn't have much of an effect except for running on the bottom part (which looks kind of cool) and making tiny little does, plus warping my card stock. So once it dried I took my aqua painter brush and just moved the bristles around in a circle that lifted some color a bit. So it mostly gave the background some large dots. I liked the look so I went with it.
Next I fussy cut the bird from one of the sheets of critters in the "Zoo Crew" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DPS).
Then I set the bird on top of the colored area to see where the words would go. The words are from the "Go To Greetings" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.
I added Dimensionals to the back of the bird. I had to trim some down for the neck and legs but I needed to have some behind them for stability. I set the bird in place on the center of the card above the words. And the card was done.
Not only is it cute and fun but it was quick and easy too!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
