Dainty Delight, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello! I'm very pleased to share today's card with you. I had no idea where I was going with it when I started but I was happy with the way it turned out. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and a piece of Vellum. I textured the Vellum piece using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued it to the Basic White piece making sure the edges lined up. I place the glue on the bottom area about 2" from the bottom, across the bottom and up the other side 2".  For the top I found the most crinkled areas and added a dot of glue there. I didn't want the glue to show through so I had to strategically place it. You could also wait to glue it until you are done with the floral image so you can add glue where those would go. I didn't do that, I found enough crinkles to get the piece to stay down.

The floral piece is from the "Dainty Delight" set and I stamped it using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut it using the matching die. Then I colored the flowers and leaves using my light Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue, and Bubble Bath Blends pens. 

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Les Shoppes" 12" x 12" package. I cut it at 4" x 2" and glued it to the bottom part of the Vellum piece.

I die cut a stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set using the 4th circle on a scrap piece of Crushed Curry card stock. I textured it using the same "Textured Paint" embossing folder.  I cut the circle to form the flower pot. I only cut off about 3/8".  Next I added a little bit of tape to the bottom of the floral piece, on the front and stuck it to the flower pot. I added Dimensionals to the back of the flower pot, making sure it covered the floral piece too to help keep it in place and along the floral piece, all the way to the top. Almost the top, you don't want the Dimensional to show.

I set the piece in place on the front of the card, centering it. 

The words are from the same "Dainty Delight" set were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock and were cut to measure 2-1/16" after trimming. I set the piece in place using tape on the left side and a Dimensional on the right side.

I added some "Polished Dots" that I had on hand. They are retired but there's plenty of other current embellishments that will work. I just need to use up some of the stash I have.

I do like how the card turned out and I thought it was fun to use some Vellum. I rarely use Vellum.
