Playing in the Rain, Rain or Shine, Beautifully Happy, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello! I'm happy to see you here today so I can share with you a fun find. As I was fussy cutting a turtle from the "Rain or Shine" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP), I looked in the package and saw lots of these little flower clusters that I had no idea what I was going to do with but I was saving them anyway! And then I remembered a card layout I like to use with the smaller images and I thought these flowers might fit in the circles and they did. So read on to see how you can use your smaller images to make a card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive card stock. On top of that is a piece of Basic White that measures 3-1/2" x 4-5/8". 

Next I cut the DSP from the "Rain or Shine" package to measure 2-7/8" x 4" and the Balmy Blue layer behind it measures 3" x 4-1/8".  I used a little dot of tape to hold the two layers together. I taped it in the area where I'd be cutting out the circle. I used my old punches to do this. I used the 1-1/4" punch first. Then I removed the DSP from the top and put a piece of copier paper behind it and punched a ring from the DSP using the 1-3/8" punch. The two pieces were then taped together. 

I added small Dimensionals around the back of the circle and set the flower cluster in place over the circle. Then Dimensionals were added to the rest of the back of the piece and it was set in place on top of the Basic White piece. Then that was taped to the front of the card. 

The words are from the "Beautifully Happy" (retired) set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched them out using the "Dual Oval" punch. Then I punched out the scalloped oval on that same punch using Old Olive card stock. I taped the words to the scalloped oval and I set the scalloped oval in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

It's a pretty simple card to make. You can do this using other circle dies too for larger images.

It's a fun layout and perfect for those smaller images that you find difficult to work with.  I'm not overly fond of the card base color but it matched the ground in the image so I went with it. But other than that I'm okay with how it turned out. Sometimes when I use this layout, I will wrap a ribbon around the two top layers and add a bow before setting it in place. Then I don't usually add any words. The ribbon does add a lot.
