Playing in the Sun, Go To Greetings, Just a Note Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello! I'm go glad you made it here today! I have a fun card from a new set to share with you. I set the "Adorable Owls" set aside for a bit so I could play with the "Playing in the Rain" set. I just love the turtle. It reminds me of the cute turtle from the "Back on your Feet" set. I actually looked on my blog to find the set (you can do a search on the right sidebar, scroll down to where it reads "Search This Blog" and enter in the stamp set or genre you are looking for. I looked it up to see what colors I used on the turtle. Apparently my light Old Olive has changed color since then. It's so much darker for some odd reason. So today I switched up colors. Read on to see how I made this card and the colors I used.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Dandy Designs" 12" x 12"package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I stamped the turtle from the "Playing in the Sun" set using black Memento ink. And I fussy cut it out. Then I colored it using my Blends Pens. The body was colored in using the light Granny Apple Green pen and the highlights were colored using the light Old Olive pen. The belly was done using both light and dark Daffodil Delight pens. And the center of the flower was a dot of light Daffodil Delight.

I needed a frame. I really wanted an oval one but the oval dies were retired so I found this die in the "Fabulous Frames" set. I die cut it from a piece of Basic White card stock. I took the center piece and scrubbed on some Balmy Blue ink using my Blending Brush. Then I cut a 2-1/2" x 3-1/8" piece of scrap card stock and taped the frame and center piece to it. The piece needed some stability and that was the easiest way to do it. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card about 5/8" from the right edge and 5/8" from the bottom edge.

The words are from the "Go To Greetings" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I punched them out using the "Dual Oval" punch. And I also die cut the scalloped oval from that same punch using Balmy Blue card stock. I taped the ovals together.

The turtle was set in place on the framed piece using Dimensionals and then the word piece was added using Dimensionals on 3/4 of the piece. I started them behind the "u" in the word just. And that was it. I had thought about adding some embellishments but I liked the way it looked as it was.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
