Peaceful Moments, Fitting Florets, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Today's card was found on Pinterest. I liked the layout and the colors so I thought I'd give it a try with the materials that I have.  You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Evening Evergreen card stock. Once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11". Score it at 5-1/2" and then cut it to 8" long. Save the piece you cut off.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece and a 4" x 2-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue. I taped the larger piece to the inside of the card and the smaller piece was textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder and glued to the top part of the card.

A 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fitting Florets" 12" x 12" package was cut to fit on the Evening Evergreen piece that was cut off from the front of the card.  I taped the DSP to the Evening Evergreen piece.

Next I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Moments" set using Balmy Blue ink. Then I die cut it with the 3rd smallest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" die set. Then an Evening Evergreen circle was cut from the Layering Circle die set. I used the third smallest scalloped circle die. I taped the two circles together.  When I die cut the words, I didn't center them, I left some space at the bottom area for the crystal rhinestones.

Dimensionals were added to the top of the front panel piece and about an inch or so down. I flipped the piece over, centered it and then I could see where the Dimensionals would be going.

Then the word piece was set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done. I was thinking about adding a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Basic White to the inside to write on. I don't like the idea of writing on the Balmy Blue card stock. I don't know why but it just doesn't seem right, like the words might not show up very nice.

I do like how the card turned out using the materials I had and I really like this layout.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Birthday card,
Wanda
