Hues of Happiness, Color & Contour, Go To Greetings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello, I'm happy to see you today. I found a beautiful card on Pinterest that I just had make. I was disappointed that there was no link to give me some guidance so read on to see how I made this card.

The baes of the card is a folded half-sheet of Melon Mambo card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Hues of Happiness" 12" x 12" package. First I cut a piece of basic White card stock that was just scant of 4" x 5-1/4". To achieve this I cut my piece on the right side of the line on my paper cutter. It gives me just a touch less than cutting on the line.  The DSP was cut on the line. I used two different pieces from the package. I cut them at 2-5/8" for the top piece and 2-1/2" for the bottom piece. You can cut them however you'd like. Mine were cut like that because the top piece was scrap and that's what it measured. I just added the bottom piece to equal 5-1/4" with both pieces. I taped the two pieces to the Basic White piece I cut.

Melon Mambo ribbon went over the seam where the two pieces of DSP meet. I cut it at 5-1/2" and taped the ends on the backside and then I taped the piece to the front of the card base.

Next I die cut a scalloped rectangle from the "Color & Contour" bundle and the layer behind it is a piece of Mossy Meadow that was cut 3-7/8" x 2-1/2". I taped the two together. I added Dimensionals to the back and I set the piece in place on the center of the DSP.

The flowers were die cut using the "Hues of Happiness" DSP and the matching dies from the "Happiness Abounds" bundle. I die cut the leaves as well. The matching dies are so much fun to play with. And the Mossy Meadow leaves are from the "Forever Fern" bundle. I don't know where the leaves came from on the original card so I used what I had.

For the words I took a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and stamped them from the "Go To Greetings" using black Memento ink. I set in my paper cutter and trimmed it close to the words. My piece measured 1/2" x 2".

Now I was ready to assemble. I had cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the inside. I taped that in place.

Then I glued the Mossy Meadow leaves on the upper and lower corners of the left side of the rectangle piece.

Next was the smaller flower on the center left. Dimensionals were added behind the large flower and it was set in place on the front of the card. Glue was added to the bottom part of the leaves and they were tucked in under the large flower. Then the two flowers were added to the right side.

The words were added using glue on the left side and a Dimensional just under the "i and r" in birthday.

I took three pieces of the ribbon and I tied them in a knot. I glued the knot in place just under the words. I set a punch on top of it to hold it down while the glue set up. And that was it.

I think it's such a rich lovely looking card. I plan to use it in a gift box of cards I'm putting together for a friend for her birthday. I made her a box of cards last year and she loved it. I'm just hoping she used the cards and is ready for some more.

This was a fun card to make and I was surprised at how quick it went together.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
