Hand-Penned Petals, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

I saw this card on Pinterest and I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't have the same background texture but you know me, I use what I have and try to make it work. I also changed the layout a bit too. You can see the original card here

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The original card had a fancy fold but I preferred to make this simpler yet split the card stock layer on the top because I liked that look.

The Poppy Parade piece of card stock on the top was cut at 3-5/8" x 5-1/8".  I cut the right strip at 1-1/8". Then I textured both of them using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued them to the top of the card base.

Next I die cut the scalloped frame from the "Scalloped Contours" die set that was part of the "Color & Contour" bundle. I had not played with that set in a while and I think I may make a card tomorrow or later in the week using it.

The words are from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I did mask off the word "friend" that was under the "feel better".  Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card about 1/2" from the right edge.

Next I stamped the flower from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set using black Memento ink. Then I colored it in using both light and dark Poppy Parade Blends pens for the flowers. Light and Dark Blends for the leaves and stems and dark Daffodil Delight for the center of the smaller flower. Once they were colored I die cut them out and added Dimensionals to the back and set in place on the scalloped rectangle piece.

And that was it. A quick, easy and simple card to make. It seems that you can't go wrong with red (or Poppy Parade) colors! They just seem so bright and cheery.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's get well card,
Wanda

  2. Wanda, I actually like the embossing folder you used better than the one on the card you used for inspiration. Very pretty card!
