Beautifully Happy, Color & Contour, Country Floral Lane, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello! I'm so happy you are here. I have a pretty card for you (that does not have an owl on it today!! LOL) I saw this card on Pinterest and I thought I would give it a try. I knew I didn't have all of the elements to make this card so I did my best to make it with what I had. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Country Floral Lane" 12' x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.

Then I took a small piece of Real Red card stock and die cut a scalloped rectangle using the die from the "Color & Contour" bundle. I taped that on top of the DSP.

A 3-7/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the focal layer. The cute hearts and flower border strip was cut from a piece of DSP in the same package. It was cut at 3-7/8" long and 7/8" wide. The layer behind it is another piece of DSP from the same package and was cut at 3-7/8" x 1-1/8". I taped the two layers together and that was then taped to the focal piece about 1/4" from the bottom edge of that piece.

The words are from the "Beautifully Happy" set and were stamped using Balmy Blue ink.

I did not have the punch that goes with the DSP sheet full of hearts and leaves so I had to fussy cut mine. I really didn't mind because they are all smooth edges and easy to cut. Once they were cut I set the heart in place using Dimensionals and the leaves were set in place using a dot of glue at the bottom tip of the heart and a Dimensional at the upper part of the leaf.

I also didn't have the pretty sequins that were used on the original card but I had some retired sequins and I colored them using my dark Balmy Blue Blends Pen. I glued them in place and the card was done.

The card turned out rather well, I am pleased that I was able to make it with what I have.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
