The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Cherry Cobbler card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The front was scored at 2-3/4" and folded backwards so the right edge is now even with the fold. I glued the flap down. I am not a big fan of fancy fold cards and I prefer my cards to be flat unless they are a pop-up card. It has a cleaner look being glued down.
Next I die cut the pretty leaves using the die from the "Merriest Frames" die set. I used gold foil paper to do that. When the piece was die cut a rectangle in the center is a solid piece. There's a stitched rectangle die in the set that was used to cut it out. Also on that stitched rectangle piece, the poinsettia flower was cut in an area that won't show when glued to the front of the card.
The frame was then cut in half and glued to the front flap of the card. And then the stitched rectangle frame was glued in place.
The words are from the "Snowman Magic" set and were stamped on a 1-7/8" x 2-5/8". Very Vanilla card stock using Cherry Cobbler ink. Then it was glued to the gold stitched rectangle piece.
On the inside a 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock was cut and textured with the embossing folder in the "Merriest Frames" set. I glued the piece in place. Taping on textured pieces doesn't always stick well, there's too many hills and valleys and the tape doesn't always make solid contact. Once the piece was glued to the inside, I taped on a piece of Very Vanilla that measured 2" x 2-3/4".
The little flower was glued to the bottom right corner and a crystal rhinestone was added to the center. And the card was done.
This was a very quick and easy card to make. I think I'd like to make one with the whole gold frame. Maybe in a few days and maybe in a different color!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
