Wonderful World, Art Gallery, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Does this card have a feeling of calm to you?  It's what I felt when I saw it on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I didn't change it much at all.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I used the Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Wonderful World" 12" x 12" package. I love it when the DSP is named the same as the stamp set. That way I can remember what papers go with a set instead of trying to remember or guess. I hope this is a new trend for Stampin' Up!.

The front of my card differs a bit because I didn't have a piece of DSP wide enough. So I cut my floral piece of DSP 4" x 5-1/4".  I wasn't sure how long it was going to end up so I just cut it that way. Then I cut a piece of the DSP for the bottom part of the card. That piece was smaller than on the original card because of the size piece I had to work with.

I die cut the edge of the flora DSP using the rounded die from the "Basic Boarders" die set. I lined it up as close to the bottom as I could and made sure that each side looked even. I used post it tape to hold it in place. After die cutting I took my 4" x 1-1/2" piece of the pink DSP and glued the two together. I glued the floral on top of the pink. I tapped the long edge on my worksurface to make sure it was level. I set it sit for a while.

I stamped the flower from the "Wonderful World" set using Flirty Flamingo ink. I had masked off the leaves and stem with some painter's tape. Because I had this set up in my Stamparatus I was able to just mask off the flower part (on the stamp) and ink up the leaves, remove the mask and stamped the leaves.

Then I took the3rd largest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" die set and set it over the flower to see what words I had that would fit in that area. The words are from the "Art Gallery" set using black Memento ink. Then I die cut the flower.

Now that my glue was set up, I took that piece and cut it to measure 4" x 5-1/4".  I taped that to the front of the card making sure I had a nice even (or fairly even) border around the card. Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower circle and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The original card has a rhinestone on the circle piece. I didn't add one because I am mailing mine and I'm being cheap and not wanting to spend the extra money for a non-machinable item. I sent out too many cards so I need to save where I can.

This was a very fun, quick, and easy card to make. I love the looks of it. The color just has a nice "calm" feeling.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

I like cutting pieces to 4" x 5 1/4" and I like the white border that it gives for the card base. It is beautiful paper and a beautiful card! I still have to get into mine.
