Rings of Love, Forever Fern, Happiness Abounds, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Once again I find myself using what I have to make a card I found on the internet.  You can see the original card here.  And read on to see how I made mine.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Sea Foam card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I stamped the background using a leaf image from the "Happiness Abounds" set.  I was just looking for an open compound leaf, though I would have settled for a single leaf if I had to. I stamped these leaves using Soft Sea Foam ink.

I took second largest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" die set and I cut out a house from the "Rings of Love" Designer Series Paper (DSP). I sponged the bottom with Old Olive and the upper part with Night of Navy ink. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

For the tree strip, I cut it from the same DSP at 4-1/4" x 1-1/2". A 4-1/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock was cut for the layer. I taped the two strips together and then taped them to the front of the card about 1-1/2" up from the bottom.

The words are from the "Forever Fern" set and were stamped using Old Olive ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I trimmed the piece to measure 5/16" x 1-3/4".  I snipped the end to make the ribbon look. Then I cut a piece of Night of Navy card stock for the layer behind it at 1/2" x 2".  I had trimmed my words after I stamped them. I would have liked them to be 1/4" but I found it difficult to trim such a thin piece.  But I'll take it!!  I taped the word piece to the Night of Navy strip and then I trimmed the end of the Night of Navy strip to match the word strip.

Now came the tricky part. Because I didn't have the same words mine were a bit longer. So I had to move the right side all the way to the edge of the card. I left  a little bit of the large DSP strip showing above the word piece.  Then I set the circle on top to see where it was going to be permanently.  I wanted to make sure I had a little bit of the tree strip showing on the left.  And you can see how it ended up.

I'm pleased with the way it looks and would make another one. I believe the original card had the house fussy cut. I couldn't find another house on the sheet like this one. They all seem to have something different.  So I just left it flat and it looked just fine.

This was a fun card to make!!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
