The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I opted for Basic White for the card base because I am running low on Poppy Parade and I just had to make it work.
Next I cut my Poppy Parade card stock at 4" x 5-1/4". I taped that to the front of the card base.
Now I had to do some creative measuring and backward measuring too. I started with the DSP. I cut it at 1-3/4" x 4". It's from the "Rings of Love" 12" x 12" package. Then I cut the Basic White layer. It measures 4-1/4" x 2-3/4". And the Mint Macaron card stock was cut at 4" x 4-1/2".
The house is from the same DSP and I used the third smallest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes, die" set. And I die cut a Poppy Parade circle using the 1-7/8" circle die from the "Layering Circles" die set. It's the 5th smallest in that set. I taped the two circles together.
I taped the DSP to the Basic White piece and set the circle on top to see how much space I had for words. I don't usually tape the DSP down, in case I make a mistake with the words but today I rolled the dice on that one! LOL
The words are from the "Forever Fern" set and were stamped using Poppy Parade ink. When I stamp like that I often use a piece of scrap copier paper over my piece to try it out first to make sure it's straight and to also check to see if the ink pad isn't too wet.
After stamping the words I taped the Basic White piece to the Mint Macaron piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.
I added Dimensionals to the back of the circle piece, making sure not to add the top one up too high because part of it would be exposed over that edge. It's better to just add it near the edge of the rectangle piece, that way you know it won't be hanging over. Once the circle was set in place, the card was done. I didn't add any colored rhinestones to mine. I was going to but I want to mail this and I don't want to pay any extra postage for non-machinable envelopes.
This was a fun card to make and I LOVE getting ideas and copying Kadie's cards!!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's friendship or thinking of you card,
Wanda
