The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Sahara Sand card stock. This is a color I don't use very often. I prefer the brighter colors. But now and then an idea comes along and I'm glad I have some Sahara Sand on hand. Like on today's card. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock for the layer. And the DSP was cut at 3-3/4" x 5". I taped the DSP to the Night of Navy piece and I taped the Night of Navy piece to the front of the card.
Now the question was, what to do next? What do I have that would go with this layout and color combo so far. I took a piece of DSP from the "Rings of Love" 12" x 12" package and cut it at 2-1/2" x 3". Then I cut a Night of Navy layer at 2-3/4" x 3-1/4". I taped the DSP to the Night of Navy piece. I added Dimensionals behind it and set it in place on the front of the card about 1/4" from the top and two sides.
The words are from the "Flowering Flowers" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink. The ink is so dark that it looks like black ink. So if you don't have Night of Navy ink, black will work just fine. I stamped the words on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and die cut them using the 3rd largest stitched die from the "Stylish Shapes" die set. And then I die cut a circle using Night of Navy card stock and a die from the "Layering Circles" that was just a bit larger than the stitched circle. I added Dimensionals to the bottom half and a bit of tape to the upper part. I set the circle in place on the front of the card.
I thought the card could use a little bling so I colored some crystal rhinestones with my dark Night of Navy Blends pen and I set them in place on the circle.
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.
This was a very fun, quick, and easy card to make. I do like the look of it and the colors are fun.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's thank you card,
