The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White. My Tahitian Tide card stock is down to about 1/2 sheet left. I did order a full pack. I ordered the multi-colored in-colors package to see which colors I would be using the most of. This is one of them. Though I think when I do get the package of card stock, I would probably still be using a 1/4 sheet instead of a half-sheet just to save on it. After all, it's going to be around for a couple of years. Anyway, this card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Tahitian Tide was cut for the layer.
Then a 3-3/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White was cut for the focal piece. I used the "Basic Borders" die to cut it on the bottom so it measured closer to 3-1/8".
I also cut a 3-3/4" x 3" piece of Tahitian Tide Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the in colors 6" x 6" package and it will be taped behind the Basic White piece and the piece will measure 3-3/4" x 5" when it's all done.
I stamped the birds on a piece of Basic White card stock using So Saffron for the left one and Tahitian Tide for the right one. Their beaks were punched using Pumpkin Pie card stock. The bird on the left was punched out along with it's wing and the bird on the right was fussy cut and the wings were punched out.
I stamped the branches using Soft Suede ink. I stamped one on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock that I would fussy cut after the leaves were added. The leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink and then stamped again using Parakeet Party ink. The little flowers were stamped using Highland Heather ink. I colored them in using my Wink of Stella pen.
The birds feet were stamped using Crumb Cake ink. And the eyes were stamped using black Memento ink.
After fussy cutting the branch with leaves, I set it in place on the front of the card but I didn't affix it yet. I needed to make sure everything had room on that piece. Once everything was looking good, I affixed the pieces.
The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. The original card didn't have any words on it but this card looked like a friendship card to me.
This was a fun card but it had a lot of pieces to keep track of! But it was easy enough to make and I could see myself making another one sometime!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
