The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pacific Point card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White on the inside. I like to add it first so when I'm done working on the front I am done!
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Celebrate Everything" 12" x 12" package. There's 48 sheets in this huge package of DSP. I taped it to the front of the card.
Next I stamped the mouse from the "Caroling Mice" set using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I colored him in using my Blending pen and markers. The jacket was colored in using Pacific Point. The scarf is Poppy Parade. The hat is Granny Apple Green. The body is Crumb Cake. And I did use Poppy Parade on the inside of the ear, the nose and the mouth. I made sure it was not very bright at all before I colored with it.
I die cut the piece using the 2-11/16" circle, it's the second largest from the "Layering Circles" die set.
I used my Blending brush to color in the sky with Pacific Point.
The ground was colored in using the Wink of Stella pen. I also to the pen and flicked the brush along the edge of the opening of the cap so it would splatter sparkle over the circle.
Then I die cut a Pacific Point scalloped circle the next size larger for the layer. I taped the two circles together and added Dimensionals to the back.
The words are from the "Santa's Delivery" set and were stamped using Pacific Point card stock on a 2_ x 3/4" scrap piece of Basic White card stock. The Pacific Point card stock behind it was cut at 1-2/4" x 1". The two pieces were taped together and Dimensionals were added to the back.
The circle and words were set on the front for placement. Once I saw where I thought they looked best I removed the backing and affixed them in place. And the card was done.
Such a cute mouse! Such a fun Christmas card. I'm not fond of making Christmas in July stuff. I don't even shop Christmas in July. So, if there's Christmas in July, does that mean we can have fireworks on December 4th??? LOL
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas (in July) card,
Wanda
Such a playful and fun looking card Wanda.
ReplyDeleteThis is a cute card but the mouse is actually from the Caroling Mice host stamp set.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know I had the wrong title on the stamp set.
