The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I took a 1/4 sheet of Starry Night card stock and textured it using the "Pretty Flowers" embossing folder. I glued it to the card base.
Then I cut a piece of Basic White card stock at an angle on the left and right side. Mark the left side 4" down. Mark the top edge at 4". Make a mark about 5/8" up from the bottom and about 3" from the left side. Cut the left side from the 4". Set it up in your paper cutter and cut a straight line from that left mark to the bottom mark. Repeat for the top mark.
I used a mask from the "Artistic Mix" decorative masks set and scrubbed on some Tahitian Tide ink using a Blending Brush.
The hippo from the "Hippiest Hippos" set was stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I colored it in using Smoky Slate ink and my Blender pen. I added a little Sweet Sorbet ink to the nostrils. The flower was colored in using Tahitian Tide ink and the leaf on the stem was colored in using Pear Pizzazz ink. I added a little Wink of Stella to the flower for some additional bling. Dimensionals were added to the back of the hippo and I set it aside.
I took a scrap piece of Tahitian Tide card stock and die cut the tag from the "Designer Tags" set. I had just gotten this set and thought I should use it. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. I did move it after the pick because it is a bit crooked. Then the hippo was added.
The card looked like it still needed something so I added a few rhinestones and the card was done.
This was a very fun and easy card to make and it's got a fun background too.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's thank you card,
Wanda
