Awash in Beauty, Flowering Flowers, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

I was going to move onto another new stamp set but I saw this card and I had a scrap piece of "Awash in Beauty" Designer Series Paper (DSP) sitting on my worktable so I thought I'd make this card. There's no information on how to make it. There's no link to a blog to hunt down some information, so here's how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a piece of Merry Merlot card stock to measure 4" x 5-1/4" and I taped it to the front of the card base.

Then I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that measured 3-3/4" x 5". I textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued this piece to the top of the Merry Merlot card stock.

Next I cut my DSP to measure 1-1/2" x 3-1/2". The green piece is the backside of the floral piece. And the Merry Merlot layers behind them measure 1-3/4" x 3-3/4". I taped the two layers together and then I set them in place on the front of the card. The green piece was set in place about 1/2" from the top edge of the card and 1/2" from the fold and the floral piece is 3/8" from the bottom of the card and 1-3/8" from the fold. I should have added two strips of card stock behind it for a little bit of height.  The piece kind of bends a bit on the right because of the two layers it's attached to on the left.

The words are from the retired "Flowering Flowers" set. I was trying to find some larger long birthday words in my current sets but I didn't have any, so this was the best I could do. I stamped them using Merry Merlot card stock on a 3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I cut a 1" x 3" piece of Merry Merlot card stock for the layer. The words were taped to the Merry Merlot layer and was set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. The words are set 7/8" from the top and 3/8" from the right side.

I had a few sequins left over from the "Noble Peacock" rhinestone package. I have quite a few of those left over.  If I didn't have those, I would have just colored some clear ones using my Blends pens. And the card was finished.

This was a very fun card to make and it was nice to use up some scraps!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Very pretty! It would have been a shame not to use the scrap of that beautiful dsp. I broke down and ordered it a few days ago.
