Enough ranting (LOL) so, onto my card. Now which would you say this card is, a sympathy or a get well card? I am planning on using it as a sympathy card. Maybe I need to save it as a get well card and make a new sympathy card that actually reads "sympathy"??? I don't think I have any current stamp sets with sympathy words so I'll have to find something that's retired. I got my inspiration for this card from here.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens from the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut the sheet in half on the short side so before it was folded it measured 4-1/4" x 11".
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Tahitian Tide card stock. Before I taped it in place on the front of the card base, I punched out the piece from the "Lasting Labels" punch.
Next I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock for the focal piece. Before I stamped the flower from the "True Beauty" set, I cut a 1" x 3-7/8" piece of Tahitian Tide Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the in-colors 6" x 6" stack.
The DSP will be taped about 3/4" from the bottom. I didn't tape it yet, I needed to stamp the flower image first. This was my second attempt because my first flower was too low and it got lost in the label. So I moved my flower up so it was a 1/2" from the top edge of the focal piece. I stamped it using Tahitian Tide ink. Then I taped the DSP in place.
I stamped the words from the "Eden's Garden" set using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the 1-5/8" circle die from the Layering Circles set.
I took some white Baker's Twine and wrapped it around my fingers a few times and set it in place using a couple of small glue dots. Then I set the Tahitian Tide punched piece on top using Dimensionals. Then the word piece was added using Dimensionals.
I rhinestones that were close in color to the Tahitian Tide, I'm not sure what color they are, I had colored them a long time ago and it was what was left from a previous card. But they were there, they matched close enough so I used them!! I'm just thinking of how much "stuff" I've been using and trying to use up. I still have SO much!! UGH! But I'm aware of it and trying to use it more. I will get there!
This was a very fun, quick, simple, and easy card to make. I think it would be fun making another one using the same image but die cutting it. Maybe!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's sympathy/get well card,
Wanda
