Happiness Bounds, Hues of Happiness, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

I found today's card on Pinterest. You can see that card here. It is a fun fold but I didn't want to make it that way because of the type of fold it is. Most of the people who receive my cards wouldn't understand what to do with it the way it opens. I was drawn to this card because of the colors. Here's how I made my card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hues of Happiness" 12" x 12" package. I made sure the purple part was on the top and the green part was on the bottom.

I cut two Basic White strips of card stock that measured 5" x 1-1/2".  I cut the floral DSP strips from the "Hues of Happiness" package at 4-3/4" x 1-1/4". I taped them to the Basic White strips. I added Dimensionals to the strips and set them in place on each side of the card, lining up the top, bottoms and one side.

Next I cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 2-1/2" x 3-1/2". I used the die from the "Blooming Happiness" set, which is a part of the "Happiness Abounds" bundle. I lined the die along the left edge of the piece of card stock. I tried to make it so the holes on the top and bottom were pretty equal.

The words from the "Happiness Abounds" set were stamped using Fresh Freesia ink on that piece of Basic White card stock.

I die cut the strip from a piece of Basic White card stock using the lacy looking type die in the Blossoming Happiness" die set. I trimmed it to 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" but I didn't like it that it wasn't the same on both sides, so I cut the piece in half on the area where I new each side would look symmetrical. I taped them to the floral DSP strips and then I added the piece with the words on it.

A flower and a pair of leaves were die cut from the DSP in the "Hues of Happiness" package. Dimensionals were added behind the flower and a little dot of glue was added to the back of the leaves. I set the flower in place and slipped the leaves under it.

I thought the card could use a bit of sparkle so I took my Wink of Stella pen and colored over the flower center and all the dots around that center.

The inside reads, "happy birthday" and it was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. And the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. It's got one of my favorite things, lots of layers!!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
