When I saw this card on Pinterest I knew I had to look into it. I love the "Grassy Grove" bundle and I really liked the "New Horizons" Designer Series Paper (DSP) that went so well with it. But that paper retired but the stamp set didn't. So I was wondering what I'd be using for the background. When I saw this card I knew I had to give this background a try. You can see the original card here.
The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Basic White card stock. You can use Basic Black and add a piece of white to the inside. I opted to use Basic White for the card base. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and used my Blending Brush to scrub on some So Saffron. Then some Pumpkin Pie. Next some Cajun Craze was added and Blackberry Bliss was added around the edges.
I die cut the trees and deer image at the same time. The deer fits inside the opening in the "forest". I used Basic Black for that piece. Dimensionals were added to the back of both the trees and the deer. The Dimensionals were added around the edges of the trees piece and two Dimensionals were used for the deer.
The piece was set in place on top of the colored piece and then the deer was added. Then this piece was taped in place on top of the card base.
I didn't add any wording because I wasn't sure what I wanted to use it for. It would make a nice masculine birthday card, sympathy card, thinking of you card, or a get well card.
What's fun about this background is, no two will ever be the same. Other colors can be added for a more fiery background. Or more blues to make it look more like night time. And then there's always the norther lights technique and that would be a stunning background.
This was a fun background and I'm happy that I can now continue to have pretty background with this set.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's masculine card,
Wanda
