The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Calypso Coral card stock. I used the "Double Oval" punch to punch out the scalloped oval piece that I was going to be using for the layer.
Next I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock and stamped the flower from the "Calming Camellia" set. I stamped it using Petal Pink ink and then added Calypso Coral ink to the edges and a little in the center. I used my blending brush and dragged the Calypso Coral color inward and gave a quick swirl in the center. I stamped the image, cleaned off the stamp and repeated this until the piece was covered.
The swirl was stamped next. I used Calypso Coral ink and stamped it all over the flowered piece. Then this piece was taped on top of the Calypso Coral card stock.
I took a piece of Petal Pink ribbon I had in my stash and wrapped it around the two layers and taped the ends on the back. Then I taped the two layers to the front of the card.
The words are from the "Special Moments" set and were stamped using Calypso Coral ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. I offset the word piece and the oval layer and taped them together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. And the card was done.
I really like the background of this card but I'm not so thrilled with the word piece. I think it should have been something larger. But it's still pretty, just not what I was hoping for.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's sympathy card,
Wanda
