The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 2" x 3" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package. I had a scrap piece so it was nice to be able to use some of those smaller pieces I tend to hang onto. I cut a 2-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Basic Black card stock and taped the DSP to it. I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece aside.
The Basic Black circle measures about 2-1/2". I used the 2-7/16" die for mine.
Next I stamped the flowers from the "Artistically Inked" set using Melon Mambo ink on Basic White card stock.. I didn't have the Magenta Madness color that matches the DSP. But the Melon Mambo worked and I ran with it. After they were stamped I used the matching die cut and cut them out.
Then I stamped the leaves from the same set using Old Olive ink on Basic White card stock. I die cut the leaves.
The words are from the same set and were stamped on a 3/8" x 2-1/4"piece of Basic Black card stock using Versa Mark. I stamped them close to the left side of the strip. Then they were heat embossed using the white embossing powder. I cut a 1/2" x 2-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the layer. I taped the word piece on top of the Basic White piece. I didn't need to have the right end layer nicely because it's going to be hidden.
I got out my gold thread/cord and I was ready to assemble the card.
First I set the DSP piece in place on the front of the card about 5/8" from the left side and 1-1/4" from the top and bottom of the card.
The circle was set on next using tape on the left side and a couple of Dimensionals on the right side.
Dimensionals were added to the flowers and they were set in place on the circle but I didn't press down because I needed to add the leaves and cording.
The leaves were slipped under the flowers and glued in place.
I took the gold cord and made a couple of circles with it. I used glue dots on both sides of the cord to hold it in place and I slipped it under the flowers on the bottom and the second one went under the circle. I did have to pry up my circle a little because I pressed down on it. But I did it slowly and it came up nicely.
For the word piece, I added a couple of small Dimensionals, one under the "n" and one under the "y". I slipped the right end under the flower and pressed the piece in place. I pressed down on all of the pieces and the card was done.
Do you think it could use some Wink of Stella on the flowers? I'm torn between leaving it or adding the Wink of Stella.
This was a very fun card to make. I REALLY like how it looks. It's colorful and has a warm feel to it too.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thinking of you card,
