The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I have used that folder a lot and really like the look of it. Do not affix it to the card base (I did that - oops) you will be adding the ribbon around the top first. I set the other mistake piece aside for a future card. I'm sure I'll find a fun way to use it.
I die cut the gold foil open flower image using the "Artistic" dies. Then I stamped the flowers using Mango Melody ink on Basic White card stock. I die cut the flowers. Then I stamped the leaves using Granny Apple Green ink and die cut them too.
The words are from the same "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink. I wanted something just a little darker than the Mango Melody. I didn't have the die that was used on the original card but I did have a bunch of word dies all on one large die from the "Messages" die set. And I was very happy that one of them fit the "Happy Birthday".
Now I was ready to assemble. I added a little bit of glue to some of the areas on the gold foil open flower piece and added the die cut flower pieces. I did have to trim some of the edges that hung over. Only the ones that looked out of place, especially the leaves. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set in place on top of the textured piece of Basic White card stock.
The ribbon was added next. I took a 6" piece of ribbon and wrapped it around to the back and taped it in place using scotch tape. Then I glued the piece on top of the card base. I took a 3" piece of ribbon and tied it on to the piece of ribbon I taped in place. I trimmed the ends. I like doing this type of bow. If you aren't happy where it's at, you can slide it to the exact spot that looks the best on your card.
I added 4 Dimensionals to the word piece and set it in place over the top of the gold foil open flower piece.
To finish off the card, I added some Champagne rhinestone jewels to the card and it was finished.
I REALLY do like this card. It's so pretty and versatile. It could be used as a wedding, thinking of you and even a sympathy card too.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

ReplyDeleteExcellent job CASING the card you saw on Pinterest. It's a great place for inspiration! (BTW, I rarely end up putting things away each day because like you said, you might just want to make another one the next day.)
