The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. Then I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock that I textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued that piece in place on top of the card base.
I looked in my "Expressions in Ink" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package and found some strips that I could use for this card. My strip measured 2" wide and I cut it to 4-1/2" long. Then I cut a 2-1/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Shaded Spruce card stock for the layer. I glued that to the front of the card about 1/2" from the right side and the top and bottom.
I die cut 3 sets of leaves from the matching die set. I also punched out a few Basic White leaves from the "Symmetrical Stems" punch.
The words are from the "Artistically Inked set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them using the stitched label from the "Tasteful Labels" dies.
I took some linen thread and wound it three times and used a couple of glue dots to hold it in place. I set them on the card where I thought the words would be hiding the glue dots.
I set the word piece over the area for placement of the leaves. Once the leaves were glued down then I added Dimensionals to the word piece and set it in place over all the ends of everything there!
I added some Champagne rhinestones to the front and the card was done. Now to get it ready to be mailed.
This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I love the layout and I can see myself making more and using up some of the strips in other packages of DSP.
Thank you SO very much for stopping by to see today's friendship card,
Wanda
