Stitched Snowflakes, Snowman Season, Christmas Card

One more snowflake card before I move on to something else that caught my eye!  I saw this card on Pinterest, well, a card like it. I didn't have any of the products to make it. You can see the original card here.  And here's how I made it with what I had.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I used the other half from the card stock I cut yesterday. The card stock measured 4-1/4" x 11" after cutting it in half.

I textured the front of the card with an embossing folder I had that has snowflakes all over it. I don't have a current wintry one, well, not one that will cover the whole card.

I took a scrap piece of card stock and I die cut the largest snowflake from the "Stitched Snowflake" die set using basic White card stock. I colored the snowflake with Wink of Stella to give it a bit of shimmer.  I set it aside while I tried to figure out how I was going to make this all work.

I took my "Layered Circle" die set and used the 2-11/16" one for the outside circle and the 2-1/8" one for the inside circle.  I set them up on a piece of Basic White card stock using post it tape to hold them in place. I wanted to try to make the rings as even as possible all around.  I cut two, one for the outside and one for the inside.

The 2-1/8" one was used to die cut the circle on the front of the card. I cut it about 1" from the top and the two sides of the card.

A window sheet was die cut using the 2-11/16" die. I glued the snowflake to the window sheet. Then I glued one ring to the outside of the window sheet. The window sheet piece was glued to the front of the card.  I also glued the other ring to the inside of the cover of the card. I thought it would make the card more stability.  After embossing the front the paper felt a lot thinner and weaker.

The words are from the "Snowman Season" set and were stamped on a 3/4" piece of Vellum. The strip was 3/4" x 5-1/2" long. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat set them white embossing powder. I laid the word strip across the front of the card and folded the ends over the sides of the card. I glued them in place on the back of the front of the card. Then I cut another 3/4" strip that was just a hair shy of 4-1/4" long and I glued it to the inside cover. It provided the bottom part of the card with more stability plus it hid those little ends from the front strip.

I added a rhinestone to the center of the snowflake and the card was done.

I do like how this card turned out and I think it's pretty close to the original one (other than it used entirely different products!). LOL I do recommend cutting the circle on the front of the card before texturing it. My texture got a little flattened from cutting my circle after.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's snowflake card,
Wanda
