Snowman Season, Color & Contour, Painted Poppies, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

It's trying to snow outside. The sky is dark and there's little flakes and then pellets but they are not amounting to anything. Which is a good thing, I'm not ready for snow yet. A white Christmas is pretty but it's not Christmas time yet, is it?  So while it's trying to do it's thing outside, I thought I'd make a card with snowflakes on it and here's what I came up with. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut my piece in half on the short side of the sheet. After cutting my piece measured 4-14" x 11". This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and I placed some snowflakes on it. The snowflakes are from the "Stitched Snowflakes" die set. It doesn't matter what color you die cut them but I used white in case I liked how they looked after I could use them on another project.  After laying them on my piece of Basic White card stock, I spritzed them using a mister bottle with some Pool Party ink and rubbing alcohol. I prefer the rubbing alcohol because it doesn't warp the card stock like water can do.  Once I was done spritzing over the snowflakes I removed  them and I had a pretty background.  A little tip on the spritzing, do it about 8-10" from the piece you are spraying or it could move on you. I just lightly sprayed all over the piece until I thought it was covered enough.   I am thinking about die cutting a bunch of the tiny snowflakes and making a background like this using them.  

Okay, after I was done spritzing, I took the scalloped die from the "Color & Contour" bundle and cut the edge about 1-1/2" up from the bottom. I taped this piece in place on the top of the card base.

Then I die cut the swirly circle using the die from the "Painted Poppies" bundle. 

The words are from the "Snowman Season" set and were stamped using Real Red ink. Then they were die cut using the 1-7/8" circle die. I taped the words to the swirly Pool Party piece. I added Dimensionals and set the piece in place on the front of the card.

It looked a bit bare so I thought I'd use the "Subtle Shimmer" sequins. I set them in place with Mono glue.  And that was it.  A super quick and easy card. I REALLY like the background.  I may have to try it with the "Penguin Place" set.
