The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Fresh Freesia card stock. The card stock was cut in half on the short side. After it was cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".
I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock and taped one to the inside. Then I took the other one and taped on a 4" x 3" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package.
The words are from the "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I die cut the circle with the words to the left and up a bit. I needed to make room for the penguin. The original card has a package and is a birthday card. I didn't need a birthday card at the moment so I thought I'd stick with the Christmas theme for the week. I set the circle on top of the card so I could see where to stamp the snowflakes. I used Fresh Freesia ink to stamp them.
I had fussy cut a tree from the DSP package. There's always those little images that seem to get tossed out with the recycling after punching or fussy cutting out the larger ones. I thought the tree would look cute on here. Though I could have done a package, it would just look like a Christmas present. But I wanted to pull a bit more of that Just Jade green onto the card.
The penguin was punched out using Basic Black and Basic White card stock. I stamped the feet on a scrap piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and I punched them out. Then I glued them to the front of the penguin. I stamped his eyes on using black Memento ink and I stamped the bow tie using Pool Party ink. I glued the white piece to the black piece and set it aside to dry a bit.
I took the front piece and taped a 5" piece of ribbon across the front. I secured it in the back with snail tape and then with scotch tape over that. I added Dimensionals and set it in place on the front of the card.
The circle piece was set in place with Dimensionals. I added one Dimensional to the bottom of the penguin and some snail tape to the top and set him in place and that was it.
This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I love the looks of this card, it's so bright and cheery.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
