I was in need of a bright and cheery birthday card and I found one on Pinterest that I changed up a bit. You can see the original one here. And here's how I made this one.
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Polished Pink card stock. The sheet was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" after it was cut. I folded it in half at 5-1/2".
The "Happy Birthday" on the card base were from the "Peaceful Moments" set using Polished Pink ink.
A 5-1/2" x 1-3/4" piece of Basic White was cut and the words were stamped using words from the "Peaceful Moments" set and Polished Pink ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus. I could have moved the words down just a little so there wasn't such a big open space at the bottom but you probably didn't notice it until I just told you!! I used the grid on my Stamparatus to move my piece of card stock to get the words evenly spaced. I set the words so they were towards the top of the strip of card stock. Start the top of the words about 3/8" from the top edge. This should get you closer to even at the top and bottom than mine is. The words were stamped at the top using Polished Pink ink. Then I moved the strip up 5 squares on the grid of the Stamparatus, ink up the words and stamp again. Repeat this two more times. Just make sure your strip is against the side of the Stamparatus, you need something that is stable for a guide. And use your magnet to hold the strip in place. I'd never done that before and I do like the look, especially how equally spaced the words are.
Then a 1-7/8" x 5-1/2" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock was cut for the layer. The two strips were taped together and then taped to the front of the card about 1/2" from the left side of the card.
The ice cream cone is punched from a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" package.
Next the ice cream was stamped using Cinnamon Cider, Daffodil Delight and Polished Pink ink. They were punched out and then glued to the cone.
Dimensionals were added to the back of the cone and ice creams. I made sure a Dimensional was over the spots were the cones overlapped. Just to give them an even stronger bond. The piece was set in place on the front of the card. I did mine at an angle. I liked the look of it, plus my words were fewer than on the original card and I wanted them to show up, so angling it was the best way to go for my card.
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was done.
This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. It's bright and cheery, just what I was going for!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's birthday card,
