The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Fresh Freesia card stock. This card was cut on the 8-1/2" side so after it was cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".
Then the front of the card was scored in half at 2-3/4" and then it was folded back so the right edge is now on the left fold (the center of the card). I glue that flap down. You can leave it if you like but I don't like how it looks open. To me it looks like you forgot to add something inside that area. I glue it down and then make sure the folds are creased nicely with the bone folder to help keep them as flat as possible.
I cut a 4" x 2-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package. I glued this piece in place. Tape will work too but I already had my glue out. (SO lazy!!!)
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White piece of card stock was cut for the inside. But before I glued or taped it inside, I took my blending brush and scrubbed in some Balmy Blue in a circular motion. Then I stamped the stars from the "Penguin Place" set. I stamped off once before stamping on the card stock. I just wanted them to be light because I wanted the focus on the penguin and the DSP.
The penguin was punched out of a piece of the DSP and I glued it in place over the Balmy Blue area. Then I glued the piece inside the card.
The words are from the "Snowman Season" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Balmy Blue in. I used the die from the "Frightful Tags" to cut the words out. I took the blending brush and rubbed the edges with Balmy Blue ink. Then I set the piece in place using Dimensionals on the left side. You want to make sure you don't get any over the center of the piece or it will tape your card shut! And yes, I have done that once. Once!!! I learned the first time!
This was a very fun card and I SO love this layout!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
