Cutest Halloween, Frightful Tags, Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today I was going to make a thank you card but I decided I'd make a Halloween card to send instead and just write my thank you on the inside. It's not that I needed a serious or special thank you card, so this will work.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock. On top of that I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. I also taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White on the inside.

I had a strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack. It measured 3/4" x 5".  I also cut another piece of DSP to coordinate with the dotted piece. With both pieces the same size, I stacked them on top of each other and cut them diagonally on my paper cutter. I took three of the pieces and turned them over. I lined them up so the points all matched (that part really didn't matter because the points are hidden) and I used some small pieces of scotch tape to hold them in place. 

Then I die cut the spider web from the "Frightful Tags" die set using Sahara Sand card stock. I ran tape on the back of the triangle pieces and stuck the bottom half of the spider web to it. I had to trim a little bit of the web that was sticking out the bottom. I lightly set it on the front of my card and marked on the left where the piece would be 4" long and I took it to my cutter and cut it. Then I taped it in place. I added the tiniest amounts of glue to the top three web tips and pressed them in place. 

The characters were punched out using the "Halloween" punch and the DSP from the "Cute Halloween" stack. 

The words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Sahara Sand using black Memento ink. Then they were punched out using the "Double Oval" punch. I also punched out the scallop for the words using a scrap piece of Pumpkin Pie ink. The "Double Oval" punch has the smaller smooth round piece and a sort of scalloped looking edge for the layer. I taped the two layers together.

Dimensionals were added to the word piece and all the characters. They were then set in place on the front of the card. I thought the card still needed something so I took the "Subtle Shimmer" Sequins and glued several of them in place. I didn't like that they were so white so I took my dark Highland Heather Blends pen and colored them in.  And it was what the card needed. 

This was a very fun card to make. I love those little characters and what's even better is there is a matching punch so it saves some time. Though fussy cutting these wouldn't be too bad, there's not a lot  of jagged edges to mess with.
