Cutest Halloween, Cute Halloween, Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today's card is a super quick and easy card to make. This layout can be used with any words you have that fit the width of the card stock and Designer Series Paper (DSP) that you cut. SO fun!

The base of my card is a folded half0sheet of Basic Black card stock. I cut it in half on the short 8-1/2" side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" after I cut it. Then I folded it in half.  This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

The DSP is from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack. It was a piece I had left over from some other card I had made. I should have paid better attention to the orientation of the characters on the DSP because they are sideways.  But it's okay, I can just cut another strip the right direction and glue or tape it on top.  I was just thrilled at how I could whip up such a quick card from a scrap piece that I didn't pay attention whether or not the piece mattered which way it was set on the card.  This one mattered!!! LOL  This strip measured 1-3/4" x 5-1/2". I cut a piece of Highland Heather card stock to measure 1-7/8" x 5-1/2". I taped the two pieces together to make one long strip. Then I cut the top strip at 3-1/8" and the rest of the strip was cut at 1-1/2".  Make sure you are cutting it so the ends are saved. The raw ends are on the top and bottom.

The strips were set on top of the card to see where the words would go. The words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and I just set them in place and then set my card in my Stamparatus. I stamped the words using Versa Mark and then I sprinkled them with white embossing powder. I heat set the powder and then I taped the strips in place.

The ghost is from a piece of the DSP. I punched it out, though it's easy enough to fussy cut this cute guy out.  I added a few Dimensionals behind him and set him in place.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the inside and the card was done.

I want to try this with some other DSP I have. Maybe a thank you or a Christmas card???

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Halloween card,
Wanda

  1. What a GREAT card layout Wanda. LOVE how the two panels of DSP don't join together. FUN little touch.
