Today's card is a quick and easy card, so I could use a lot of strips and make a lot of cards with it, that should use up some of the DSP, right?
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut the full sheet in half on the short side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11". Then I folded it in half so it opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and I rounded the corners.
I took a scrap piece of the DSP and set it on top of my rounded corner piece. I set this on top of my scoring board. I eyed the DSP so it looked even on the top, left and right. Then I took my stylus and followed a line alongside the left of the DSP. I did not go any higher than the DSP or any lower. Next I had to sort of feel for the scoring board line on the right. I didn't want my DSP to be too wide so I had to make sure I was keeping it to 1-3/4". My DSP was wider than that because I started to score over it. So at this point I was able to finish the scoring for the right side. Then I turned the card stock to the right and scored on the shorter sides (top and bottom of the scored "frame"). I trimmed my DSP to just a hair smaller than 1-3/4" x 4-1/4".
I turned the Basic White piece over and on top of my scoring board, I went over the score lines so the bump would be on the front. Do this gently so you don't rip your card stock. You don't need to press hard because the card stock is already loose from scoring on the front.
I taped the DSP inside the "frame". Then I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the card base.
The words are from the "Banner Year" set and were stamped using Just Jade ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I trimmed the word piece to 2-1/4" x 7/16". I snipped the corners to give it a little bit softer look. The words were set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.
This was a super easy and quick card to make. I think I'm going to give this layout a try with one of the Halloween sets.
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by to see today's quick and easy Christmas card,
