Frightfully Cute, Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Here I thought I would me making another card using the "Cutest Halloween" set but I ended up using the "Frightfully Cute" one instead. I have not used that one much and I need to go on the hunt for some cards using it. This card was super quick, fun and easy to make.  You can see the original card here. I did have to make a few minor changes.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  After I folded the piece in half, I cut off 1-1/4" off the right edge on the front of the card.

I cut a 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6 x 6" stack.  I have not used this design in the pack yet, so when I saw this card I was thrilled that I could play with the skull paper too!  I'm trying to use all of the paper in this stack and I'm off to a slow start!  After cutting the DSP, I cut a piece of Basic White card stock (which should have been Basic Black) and I glued it to the DSP. I wanted the DSP to have a firm backing because I was going to be doing my ribbon a bit differently.  After gluing the two pieces together, I cut a 6-1/2" piece of the "Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon" and I taped the ends to the back of the piece. My ribbon edge is about 1/2" from the edge of the DSP.  After taping it I glued the piece to the front of the card.

Then I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside of the card.  A 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of the tiny colored striped DSP was taped to the inside of the card on top of the right side of the Basic White piece.

I didn't have the same die that was used on the original card, so I found one in the "Tasteful Layers" set and use it. I used Fresh Freesia for my color.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" card and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I die cut them using the fun circle die from the same "Tasteful Layers" set. I set the words in place on the Fresh Freesia piece using Dimensionals.

I fussy cut a skull. I didn't like how thin it felt being it was going to be hanging over the right edge of the front of the card so I glued it to a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock and I fussy cut around the skull again.  Now if you are making this card, cut out the skull, tape or glue it to the Basic Black and then do your fussy cutting.  Just saves a little time.  I chose glue because glue would be making the piece a bit more stiff too. The skull was then glued to the upper corner of the Fresh Freesia die cut piece.

I set the Fresh Freesia piece in place on the front of the card. I glued the left side of the piece and glued it so the bottom of the piece is 1-1/4" up from the bottom of the card. You can pretty much place it anywhere you like on the card. I chose lower because the bow is going to balance it out.

A few black enamel dots from a retired pack were set in place on the Fresh Freesia piece and then the bow was added.  The card is now done and You're ready to make another one because it is super easy, fun and quick!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and seeing today's Halloween card,
Wanda
