Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Did you ever get a tape runner that you just couldn't wait until it was used up? I have one that is driving me nuts. It wants to roll nice at the start and then it just feels like it's dragging and don't forget the noise too!  It sounds like that bad wheel on the shopping cart you and only you are using in the store! LOL I'm thinking maybe one more card and I can toss this noisy thing out and get a fresh one going!!

Okay, onto today's card. I found it on Pinterest and when I clicked the link there were absolutely no instructions, so here is how I made this cute card. Oh, you can see the original card here, I did make a few little changes.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. At this point you can pretty much use any color that is used on the front of the card. I chose white because I didn't have to add a piece to the inside when I was done.

A piece of piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack and cut it at 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" and taped it to the front of the card base.

I cut a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the layer and a 2-7/8" x 4-1/8" piece of DSP and I taped it to the Basic White layer.

Next I took a 5-1/2" piece of Highland Heather ribbon and taped the ends to the back of the two layers. I put glue on the back and set it in place on the front of the card. I chose glue because I wanted to be sure the ribbon wouldn't be going anywhere. Tape will work too but I opted for the glue.

The words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and were stamped using Highland Heather for the "Hey, Boo!" and Basic Black for the other words and spider. I was able to stamp all of them at the same time because I set them up in my Stamparatus.  Then I die cut them using the 2-3/8" circle die and I used the next size larger die for the Highland Heather layer. I taped those two pieces together and then taped them to the front of the card.

The characters were punched out using the matching punch and DSP. I did have to fussy cut the skull, there wasn't one in the punch for it.  But it's easy enough to cut.

I also die cut some stars from the "Frightful Tags" set using Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry scraps of card stock. I glued them in place on the circle. I took a toothpick and added a little bit of glue and set each star in place like that.

Dimensionals were added to the back of each character and they were then set in place around the circle.

I slid the ribbon (still on the spool) under the taped ribbon and I tied a bow. I trimmed the ends and the card was done.

I thought it was such an adorable card and my minor changes didn't effect the look too much. The original card had the ribbon tied all around the front of the card, where I had mine only on the DSP layer. I didn't have the same stars but I did have stars in the "Frightful Tags" dies and they worked out just fine. It's a fun kid friendly card!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's sweet Halloween card,
Wanda
